This is certainly not a place for everyone: A wooden traditional house located in the pristine nature accessible only by unpaved road. When one looks for a quiet location in the wilderness this should not dissapoint. The house is located near small pond and surrounded by forest. By night we were hearing cranes and dears occasionally paied visit to us. The host is really nice, all the day around but far from being obtrusive, suplying us by wood and fresh birch branches for sauna. The place is simple (including beds) but spacious.

At Hotel Senleja I felt immediately at home and very welcome. The modern and comfortable hotel is perfectly located for trips through Gauja National Park, the room was sparkling clean and there was always something special for breakfast among with the regular breakfast ingredients. The food was amazing, I had a very nice breakfast 2 days in a row, with very tasty choices. It felt home like. The staff was ever present and very helpful, if they can do something for us, they will. The rooms were impeccably cleaned and well equiped, and the quality of the bed was higher than I expected, very comfortable!

It's really convenient to get the key, you don't have to talk to anybody, just take the key from a box. Parking is beside the hotel for free. The room was very cozy and clean. The bathroom was big and well lit. There are several places in the close vicinity of the hotel where you can eat.
