The ancient city of Polonnaruwa has a lot to offer to the tourists who want to know about the history of Sri Lanka. It has so many ruins and monuments to view, and especially marvel at the stone crafting abilities of ancient Sri Lankans who have created so many buddhist states and artistic monuments by using rocks. Ruins is one of the best experiences I have ever had. The staff is very nice. The food, the rooms are amazing. I invite all local and foreign people to come here and have fun. Located outside the city, it is a quiet and pleasant place to stay. In all respects, Ruins is a beautiful hotel located in Polonnaruwa. The site seeing of historical places were the best.
The site seeing of historical places were the best. Most of the time we ate at the hotel and visited some locals and shared a meal with them. Opali and his family are pretty much the nicest, most welcoming people we ever met. Food was amazing and the room very spacious. We had great talks and Opali told us a lot about his life and Sri Lankas situation. He even did a night walk with us where we saw lots of animals. Also, the place is perfectly located if you want to visit the ancient city, you can even rent bikes directly at the house. In Polonnaruwa I would go there again any time.
