The hosts are absolutely lovely. They have a tuktuk, so you can be easily dropped off where you need to go, with better rates than PickMe. This was incredibly helpful, especially if you do the Rewaka turtle watch - they stayed the entire four hours waiting for us! (It is hard to know how long a turtle experience will take). We were grateful, because it was midnight by the time it finished, and may be difficult to get a tuktuk. They were very accommodating, and also took us into town when we asked the next day. The room is nice, and the shower is decent. Airconditioning and fan work well, and the breakfast is yum. The hostess is very welcoming. There is a lovely beach just across the road from the location. We brought our own snorkel gear and saw lots of fish! Most people go to the more popular beaches, so we had this beach to ourselves. Very clean, warm temperature, with clearer water than in Mirissa. The local fishermen were very helpful and showed us where to swim to best avoid the rocks. We were told by the hostess that two turtles like to frequent this beach, although we were not lucky enough to see them during our swim. Truly a very lovely stay.

Aruni and the Blue Ocean resort team were amazing from start to finish. We booked the ocean view room and it was so stunning that we decided to stay for a month. During that month, we got help from Aruni with booking lagoon tours, setting up a trip to both the safari parks that were nearby and a lot of other things. Whenever we needed tuktuks she would go out of her way to arrange it for us. One time I had to take a sick stray dog to the vet and she arranged everything with the vet and tuktuk to take me there, she even fed him and now he is there often and it was very sweet and she really did not have to do that. I cannot recommend Blue Ocean enough to anyone thinking about staying here. The beach is quiet and huge, there is so much wildlife nearby and there are a couple of restaurants nearby. Whenever we wanted to eat at the resort we would ask her in advance for some fish, lobsters and shrimp. On our last day they even had bbq which was very tasty. Thank you Blue Ocean team. We will definitely be back! And we already miss the two (now three haha) dogs Brownie, Emma and Cheese ball :D

Beautiful location, right on the beach front. Clean and a large cabana with a verandah. Friendly staff who all stayed up late to greet us and cook dinner. Fantastic breakfast on the deck overlooking the beach and the local fishing activities.

I recently stayed at Igabara Hobbit House Rakawa, and it was such a wonderful experience from start to finish. The place is truly special — surrounded by nature, filled with greenery, and designed with a lot of creativity and care. The atmosphere is peaceful, making it a perfect escape from the busy city life. The room was very clean, cozy, and beautifully decorated in a unique hobbit-style design that makes you feel like you’re in a little hidden paradise. The garden area and pool are well maintained, and it’s such a nice spot to relax, read a book, or enjoy a quiet evening. The staff were extremely kind, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything needed. They made sure everything was comfortable during my stay. The location is also great — just a few minutes away from the beach, so you can enjoy both nature and the sea. Overall, it was an unforgettable stay. The Alpha Monkey know how to do serenity and relaxation. Provided everything we needed and they make sure their guests are comfortable. Great to be away from the tourist track but a quick tuk tuk ride can get you to banks, shops, restaurants. This is the best place on this strip of coast.
