One of the best hotel experiences I've ever had!! Stayed here for two nights and it was the highlight of my trip to Sri Lanka. The hotel itself is absolutely amazing. Beautifully decorated with lovely views and peaceful surroundings with many birds to see. They had recently had some wildfires nearby so apparently in normal times you can see even more wildlife than what I saw during my stay. There is also a stunning waterfall nearby (almost in the hotel grounds) that the staff take you to and that you can have completely to yourself or perhaps with a couple of locals. I also did a hike with the staff up to the mountain behind the hotel which was great. Then afternoons spent lazing in the pool, chatting to the staff and with complimentary High Tea as I watched the mist float through the mountains. There were no mosquitos in that area too which meant that they could have the large windows open (even at night!) with one whole side of the hotel open to the fresh air and views. There are only two rooms in the hotel, though they have plans to build another couple of buildings in the future (though also with a very secluded feel). I was the only one there during my stay which meant I had the whole place to myself 😍 The best thing about Capoe though is the staff. Isham, Eranda, the wonderful chef and the gardener who guided the hikes. They were all so friendly and attentive and really made my stay, especially as I was a solo traveller and they were very friendly and chatty (though also give you your space when you need it). I've never had a private butler before, let alone one that is trained in both wildlife spotting and making cocktails! Thanks so much Isham, you made my stay really special 🙏🏼 Can't wait to come back on my next visit to Sri Lanka! ❤️

This was an exceptional accommodation on Sri Lanka. Rooms were absolutely clean, host Faiz was absolutely professional and very kind. He was always making sure we had everything. He and his wife provided amazing food. We had breakfast and diner twice. It was delicious, varied and a there was a plenty of it. Faiz provided us all information we needed for the walks around and even helped us to catch a bus to Colombo. From the very first minute to the end, he really provided everything we needed and much more.

Almost everything. Location was close to Horton Plains and the owners arranged a tuk tuk ride for a nominal fee. Lovely surrounding. Food was tasty and ample given. Really worth it. Owners were friendly and made the guests feel at home.

The Hill Safari is beautifully situated on a hill. The rooms are very nice with a huge panoramic window, very comfortable beds and warm blankets. There is also a mosquito net. I felt comfortable all around. All the people there contribute to a wonderful and unforgettable stay. The food is very tasty and excellent. I went on several walks in the surrounding area. It is all so peaceful and beautiful, I will definitely be back. Thank you for everything.

The family was very warm and welcoming. The room is part of the home, making for an intimate experience. The home had a nice view of the surrounding area and the dinner and breakfast was tasty Sri Lankan cuisine. The family also gave us a recommendation for a local walk which we really enjoyed. The staff was really helpful, they helped organizing the transport to Horton's Plains and provided tuk tuk transport from train station. There is an option to buy a dinner, which is super convienient, because in Ohiya there are no restaurants.

The main employer cooks the best food in all of sri lanka! I already miss the delicious rice and curry! It was clean and a friendly environment. You live a little of shore but very close to the train station. That is very practical.
