We loved the pool, temperature was perfect. From the pool we had a view of the river, there was plenty of birdlife to watch, also saw mongoose and large lizard. The owner really cares about the service he is providing. The meals were all amazing and he was accommodating when on the second day we only wanted a light lunch of sandwiches. He organised a good safari for us and was there as we left for safari even though it was 5am. Really recommend this accommodation.

Beautiful, quiet location. The lodge is excellent, the best quiet environment I had in Sri Lanka, the jacuzzi tub is perfect for a dip after a long safari. The owner and staff are very friendly. The lodge also organized my private safari and my guide, driver Janaka, was excellent. I actually liked my Udawalawe safari better than the one I did in Yala.

Our stay at Serene Retreat was truly memorable. This place is surrounded by greenery and offered a peaceful escape from the busy city. The room was spacious, with modern amenities. The food was a real highlight — the breakfast spread had a variety and catered to different tastes. The staff went above and beyond, always welcoming us with a smile and offering helpful tips about the area. It was a perfect get away for us and would love to come back again.

It was a very nice experience, with a breath taking view. The rooms were also very spacious, very well made and very clean. It’s very udawalawa national park entrance and hotel arranged a next day early morning Safari as well.

Great Hotel! The cottage are spacious, clean and very comfy (huge beds)! The outdoor bathroom was really special. We did the morning half day safari with namal who was very engaging, excitable and knowledgeable about the national park. The facilities were clean, with top quality on arrival service.
