We stayed as a couple for 11 days in this beautiful cottage 1 minute from the beach. It is so quiet and you can relax and retreat very well. There is also a whale skeleton and several beaches are within walking distance. It is also a kitesurfing paradise and there are many donkeys here. You can easily cater for yourself, but there are also several restaurants nearby. The owners are next door and are happy to help at every opportunity. We would come back any time. :-)

While walking through Kalpitiya, we found a hidden gem at the Blue Wave, an absolutely beautiful, brand new resort on the beach. We were welcomed and given a tour of the resort by the friendly owner, Piomi Perera, and immediately knew the Blue Wave was where we would stay, a brilliant decision on our part. The facility includes a huge swimming pool, large, airy, open cabanas with a/c and big bathroom with warm shower. The restaurant is staffed with a professionally trained chef, Damith Kalkar, who comes to your table to suggest menu selections and returns after the meal to ensure all was fine. Excellent, attentive staff throughout.

We visited the Kalpitiya area for the first time and couldn't imagine staying in any other hotel than Club Mango. From the first moment everyone was so nice to us, they offered to cook us a delicious rice and curry for lunch on arrival that perhaps no other in Sri Lanka surpassed. The chef would deserve at least a Michelin star for his cooking skills. We enjoyed a Sri Lankan breakfast in the morning and enjoyed seafood and fish for dinner. If you love Sri Lankan cuisine, love to eat and love uncrowded places, Club Mango is your best choice in Kalpitiya. We walked to the sea in the morning via 2 shallow lagoons. The staff is very nice and helpful. The rooms are stylish and big enough and of course the gorgeous outdoor bathroom overlooks the palm trees. Great experience and we will definitely be back!

Loved the location, massive room with a huge balcony overlooking the ocean. We wake up to the sound of the wild birds and ocean waves bashing on the beach. Good facilities with a big room and extra big bed. Lovely Sunset a around 530 - 6pm Great location for kite surfing, excellent food and super friendly staff, lovely pool, we'll be back soon with our friends. First impressions is good. And the employees are very kind and helpful. The room was very nice and well equipped. The swimming pool is very good, cold water. You can spend freely in the surrounding areas. The food is delicious. Chef Harsha, Restaurant manager Ravi very good.
