We loved everything about our stay. The room was so nice and clean. The breakfast was delicious and we could choose exactly what we wanted to eat the day before. The staff was kind and helpful. It's an old house with a gentle renovation so the spirit of the history was preserved in a beautiful way. All in all we had a wonderful time at Thambu Illam.

I loved my stay at the Thinnai (and Jaffna overall, it’s a shame that people skip this place). There was a small miscommunication about take away breakfast, but they sincerely apologised and made up for it with a surprise from the kitchen. Breakfast is also very nice and I definitely recommend the Odiyal Kool which tasted amazing!

Absolutely loved my stay here! The staff and caretakers looked after me like I was family - particularly Robina and Spelwin. The breakfast was authentic, delicious and served with love.
