A fantastic place right by the ocean. The hotel staff, along with the hotel manager and the hotel's four-paw manager, made us feel right at home from the very moment our car pulled up to the entrance. The attention to detail was unprecedented, and the small touches everywhere continued to surprise us, even after a few days.

My stay at Scenery River Star Hotel was truly unforgettable. Nestled by the riverbank, this hotel offers a breathtaking view and a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life, particularly the noise of Hikkaduwa. It is a lovely quiet paradise where neither the sound of cars nor trains can disturb the peace. The room was cleaned correctly, providing comfort, with a terrasse that offered a view of the river — a perfect spot for sitting and relaxation. A highlight of my stay was kayaking on the lake, which the hotel arranged for me. Paddling peacefully on the water was a delightful way to take in the natural beauty of the surroundings. What truly sets Scenery River Star Hotel apart is its commitment to guest satisfaction. The staff were always very helpful. Hikkaduwa has fabulous beaches but when we stayed in March...

Hikkaduwa has fabulous beaches but when we stayed in March the flags were up for no swimming as the waves were so big. This was not a problem for us as we did not want to swim particularly but people that want to snorkeor have young children that want to swim may be disappointed. Great to be close to Galle but be in a quieter location. Aboit 20 mins by car. Lots of little bars and places to eat along the beach. Beaches are quiet and less full of tourist than Galle. There are quite a few stray dogs (everywhere in Sri Lanka) which don't bother you but do be mindful that they may go to the toilet on the beach so watch where you tread!!!

The water temp was nice, waves for surfing & plenty of shops & restaurants to choose from. Close proximity to Galle by bus & snorkelling at ant of the beaches to see colourful fish + turtles.

I was away for 44 nights in the sun. Swimming reading away from a cold winter. What else can you ask for. Got good food good people. Beautiful beaches, so many beautiful things to see. Fish everywhere, sharks ( baby ones) turtles. Elephants safari the place is awesome.

Hikkaduwa is one of the best places to stay few days at the southeast coast of Sri Lanka. Very nice,clean beach with fine golden sand,many guest houses and hotels,restaurants. Easy to reach nearby historic Galle town by bus or train-ca 1/2hour, Bamian Buddha Statue/Tsunami museum in Peraliya or Seenigama Buddish/HinduTemple few hundred meters away.

I stayed there for four nights and it’s been awesome. I even got an upgrade when I arrived, so really enjoyed it. The hotel is literally on the beach and downstairs there is a cool bar that with the most beautiful sunset. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. The rooms were clean, fresh and had a comfy big bed. The breakfast was served on the beach. There were supermarkets and restaurants around and everywhere. WiFi worked well too! Everything was great. If I come back to Hikkaduwa, I will definitely stay again.

Beautiful boutique hotel by the beach with dark wood decor. Very gracious and helpful staff, notably Madura. The hotel provided our kids with a box of toys to play in the sand, which was a nice touch. You can eat breakfast, lunch and dinner on the beach listening to the crashing waves.
