The place is way beyond every expectation and the hosts are the most amazing couple we could ever meet! I would need an entire book to list everything that impressed us positively. The accomodation is really cozy and super comfortable and the setting is magical, really quiet and immerse in nature. The breakfast, all home made, was delicious and Dammika was incredibly kind to come and pick us up at the train station. Will never recommend this place enough, I’m so thankful! Can’t wait to come back

Wonderful house, we really liked it. Everything is very clean, the room has everything you need, from air conditioning and towels to a mini fridge. The hosts are very friendly and hospitable people, if necessary, they will help organize trips to local attractions: the house is located close to Sigeriya, Dambulla, Minneriya National Park. I would also like to note the restaurant on the territory - they cook delicious food and it is very cozy. We are glad that we chose this place in Habarana.

Location is calm and peaceful. They have a nice infinity swimming pool overlooking lake , Staff is so welcoming and well trained. Good restaurant and good sitting places. Rooms are spacious and kept very neat and tidy. The sunset view is absolutely amazing from room and pool this hotel. Totally worth the money.

Sky Forest Lovely hotel in the forest, away from the noise of the highway. We had a lovely big room on stilts, overlooking the forest. Lots of birds, lots of privacy, super balcony to watch nature passing by. People are friendly, helpful and speak good English. The help in any way they can and organize walks in the vicinity. Meals are excellent.

Kumari and Ener are such beautiful people they run the farm stay with a big hrart and the best kitchen. We learned cooking sri lankan curries from kumari and it felt like home. The owner personally called us and checked in to see how we like it. It was such a authentic experience. Thank you

Good location to visit the National parks where Elephants roam. Take a short drive to Ritigala and be amazed at the heritage site of a millenia old large forest monastery. Dine at the Ran Rasa restaurant for one of the best Chicken Koththus you will taste..

Beautiful jungle surrounds. Lots of activities. Safari doesn't tell you about all the extra costs involved. Entry fee big. Tip for animal spotter. The Harabana lake cruise is brilliant. No motor just a gentle paddle, allowing you get up close to wildlife

There are loads to do in Habarana.

There are loads to do in Habarana. Nice places to eat and drink. One unexpected pleasure was the village safari. You go for a ride on a old tractor, then a lovely boat ride across the lake. You are then shown the old traditional way of preparing and make food. Also shown other local crafts.

We went to this area and stayed at the Cinnamon Habarana...

We went to this area and stayed at the Cinnamon Habarana Village for 2 noghts. This gave us time to visit Pidirangula the rock opposite Sigiyeria Rock, Polonuwara ruins, Minneriya Safari parks and a couple of village tours to see how locaal live and eat. These village tours I would recommend as you get to try local curries made by the villagers which are authentic. Pidurangula is the same height as Lions Rock but a quarter of the price. The only thing you miss out on is seeing the ruins at the top of the ancient civilisation. Minneriya was fantastic. We did this as a last minute decision as we were advised there were more elephants here than in the Yala Safari park which we had already booked to visit in the south. We were so glad we did this as there were plenty of elephants to see and capture on camera. The ruins around this area are a plenty and definitely worth visiting as they are centuries old and date back to when Buddha came into the country. When visiting any ruins or temples men musat wear a sarong to cover their knees and women have to cover their shoulders and knees. Wearing t shirts and 3/4 linen trousers are ideal. We had a private tour guide with his car that we hired for an 8 day tour so he knew where to go, and came with us at each attraction. Would recommend touring Sri Lanka in this manner and using Madhu of Nesi Tours Srilanka. He is able to help with itineraries and pricing. We had a fabulous trip in this beautiful country with

Rowan’s tree house suite is a taste of the jungle with modern hotel facilities. A rare find, but not as rare as the welcome, hospitality and friendship which he, his family, staff and Dhilip de Altwis provided throughout our stay. Each meal was a lesson in Sri Lankan cuisine and, in the evening, was accompanied by the music and wisdom of Dhilip. They arranged everything for us from dancing exhibitions to Safaris and bird watching (Dhilip again). Thank you all for a great stay and a great insight into Srilankan life.

We spent 5 days in this family hotel, their hospitality and kindness was outstanding. Many thanks to Kalhara and his wife, every breakfast and dinner were a wonderful Sri Lanka culinary experience. Clean and comfortable rooms, beautiful garden in front. Close to Habarana train station. Very good start point to visit places around. We followed the owner advice to organise the visits and it was great. In general, really good experience, place good value for money. Super host.

Immaculately clean accommodation in the middle of the jungle, run by super helpful owner, Indika, who assisted with all necessary logistics and advice for touring the area and local safari. Habarana is perfectly placed 1hr bus from Polonnaruwa and 25 mins tuktuk from Sigiriya/Dambulla. I slept 10hrs both nights(!) in the most comfortable bed I've slept in in the whole of Sri Lanka. 😊 Thank you Indika!! Highly recommended.

The hosts (Wanda and Leo) are super friendly and ensured that our Sri Lanka experience started really well. They were attentive to our travelling wishes, and they did not only organise several trips for us but they did also suggest travelling tips. The hotel and the rooms are clean and nice, and the hotel staff is also super friendly and can prepare a really good breakfast!
