We were in V3 upstairs with balconies front and rear. The front balcony had dining table and chairs. The rear balcony was good for spotting wildlife (monkeys, squirrel, mongoose?) and birds (hornbills). The kitchenette was great - we asked for additional pans and noodle bowls and these were provided promptly. Comfortable bed, with mosquito net, clean bathroom, hot shower, air con and fan. Washing machine available on the roof. 5 minute walk to Goyambokka beach - the best beach in the area in our view.

This place was the highlight of our trip to Sri Lanka. It can be a bit tricky to find, but once you reach you'll be taken in with the amazing view of the ocean, quirky decor and the hospitality. We stayed in the purple room which was very artistically done. The pool and open kitchen restaurant are great to chill in. Kubra has a beautiful shop out front where you can buy customized clothes and her husband Julien brings so much passion to the food, that you can taste it! He even customizes food per your preferences. Do give them a try, they have made a home away from home and deserve all the love!

Halcyon is a new hotel with a great pool and an incredible location right at the beach. The beach invites for walks and also swimming as the waves are not too big. The staff are attentive and the service is excellent. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious and well equipped. The design of the entire hotel is beautiful and thought through to the last detail. The hotel has sup boards and kayaks which can be used to explore the lagoon right behind. And the owner has many very useful tips for exploring the area, and sri lanka. It is a great place to start your holiday, for couples and for families too.

We had our best stay so far at the Lagoon Gate Resort! We were warmly welcomed with some refreshing juice and cold towels and we had a tremendously spacious, well equipped and perfectly clean room. We really enjoyed the pool area and could even rent kayaks for free for a tour at the lagoon. The breakfast was delicious and we also booked a really good massage directly at the accommodation. Would definitely come back next time!

Where do I start? From the second we arrived our host was there to help in every shape or form. Such an amazing family run accommodation,this once in a lifetime experience. We instantly extended our stay. Our Hobbit house was just fantastic in every way. Everything you need is inside. The bed!!!!! You could fit a small village on the bed 🤣. The bathroom was incredible, everything was supplied including, quality shampoos, conditioners, shower gels, lotions, hairdryer. By far the best accommodation we have stayed in on our 3 week journey of Sri Lanka. Our host even organised an early morning Kayak on the lake which is a 2 minute walk, which was less that 10euro for as long as you want. He also suggested the turtle sanctuary which is an easy walk to the beach. There we saw newly hatched turtles running into the sea, followed by numerous turtles laying there eggs, on a guided and strict tour. Overall PLEASE BOOK Igabara hobbit house, you definitely won't be disappointed xx

Amazing staff, so friendly. Perfect location for a few days to relax. Few minutes walk to the beach which was very quiet. We liked that the location didn’t feel touristy at all. Great pool, gym and restaurant. Very good value for money.

Wonderful experience, loving host family, amazing place. Perfect for rest and relaxation. Delicious cuisine, no need to go into town to eat, no need to worry about anything, the host is phenomenal.
