The property is brand new, very well decorated and clean. Since it’s outside the main road, it’s also very quiet and peaceful. The owner and staff are the friendlier and caring you can find - ready to assist any time - who also prepare delicious and varied breakfast every day. We booked the place for two nights and ended up staying six. WiFi works is extremely fast, which is very convenient if you have to work and do VTC. Also the rooms are much bigger than advertised, they have a separate kitchen and a washing machine! We would definitely go back to this peaceful hidden gem! A special thanks to Sasini and Menaka for their kindness - we will miss you!

What a lovely place. One of the nicest rooms we had on our trip through Sri Lanka. Very spacious, spotlessly clean with a huge bathroom. We loved staying there. We loved our stay at the Mer.Chant. The flawlessly designed hotel is built around an old market place and staff is happy to tell visitors about the history of the place. Everyone was very welcoming, our room was beautiful and the food delicious. We will definitely miss the coconut water and local fruit for breakfast just as much as hopper night on Wednesday!
