My partner and I stayed at Forest Shade Eco Resort earlier this month and we had a wonderful experience. We came cycling from Colombo and unfortunately had a small accident on the way. We called the hotel and they arranged a vehicle that picked us up straight from the hospital, everything went super smoothly and it was absolutely sweet how everyone was so concerned about us (we are fine now). This place is definetely the right spot when you need to recover from a bicycle accident or life in gereral. Our room and the attached balcony overlooked the river and we had a fantastic view! The food was lovely as well, we got the Sri Lankan option for dinner and breakfast and loved it. This place is a 100 percent recommendation and we will definetely come again on our bikes to explore the beautiful area a bit more.

Very nice calm and peaceful location. Staff is very nice. They tried do the best for guests. Good service. We had a nice experience in a colonial time estate bunglow. Definitely we will visit this place again.

We were fortunate to have booked this hotel for 8 nights. We needed some rest and this was the perfect place to do it. We instantly felt part of the Aramya family. Amazing staff and manager, super friendly and always willing to help. The chef made delicious food and we were looking forward to a new meal every day. Last but not least: the hotel is located on a stunning location. In the middle of the jungle with fantastic birds. We also loved the neighbourhood and that is not yet discovered by tourists. We could have easily spend more nights 😍

The exceptional customer service at this hotel impressed me. They were always friendly and asked how our stay was going every time we walked in the door. The room rates are reasonable, too. What I most loved about the hotel is its serene pool area, beautiful room décor, additional facilities, directly river access and overall atmosphere.

Hemantha, the owner and manager of hotel and his son Dulana have built a truly beautiful pearl in the middle of the rainforest. With excellent English, they took care of us and fulfilled all our wishes. This is our fifth time in Sri Lanka, but we visited Kitulgala for the first time during our travels and I can recommend this area to everyone to visit. Waterfalls in the middle of the forest and rafting on the river are among the great experiences that this hotel offers you at a very fair price. And then you can let yourself be pampered in the comfort of the hotel with great food and enjoy a bath in the beautiful natural pool or right in the small clean river that flows around the hotel. The location is simply stunning. Views from the terrace, the pool and the room are incredible regardless of weather. Pool is in a garden setting where the tea bushes meet to edge of the garden. Food good and not unreasonable. Staff very attentive rooms simple and old world charm but all in keeping with the hotels age.

Wow!!!! Placed in. The jungle. Huge cabana with spa. Gorgeous place. Very spacious. Beautiful designed. With the sound of the river nearby. Highly recommended. One of the best places we have ever been.
