A clean modern hotel with a huge room, quality fixtures and fittings, fully equipped with balcony, comfortable bed and an actual bath! The breakfast was massive, with a choice of either Sri Lankan or eggs, sausage and pancakes, along with fruit and toast. The hotel has a proper restaurant (unlike others that claim to) and we ate here one night. The food was delicious and plentiful, beer is available. The family are very happy and helpful, arranging tuk tuks and giving advice. Dambulla is a town without much to attract tourists, except the impressive cave temples and the international cricket stadium. The hotel is in perfect location for both by tuk tuk. Our visit coincided with an international match and the hotel is actually within walking distance of the stadium, about half an hour flat walk.

So beatiful and calmly place. Lake area is gorgeous and the view is stunning. Staff is helpful and friendly in every way. We booked at first only one night, but the we extended for 3 more days. Rooms were quiet big and comfortable. Clean and the food was ok, but not that special like we got in the rest of the country.

The room was large, clean, and comfortable. It had strong water pressure with hot water, and great air-con. It says ‘Eric~South Korea’ I guess because I’m here now. I’m from California and I’ve traveled 126 countries. I was very sick when I arrived at the hotel. I slept long time. When I woke up, I came out and the first thing they did was offer to bring breakfast at 11:30am on several plates. That never happened to me in Cal., any other state in my country, and no other time in these other countries, except this place. When was the last time you were offered the complimentary breakfast at 11:30am?!

But in all my journeys, I have never experienced a hostel like this—one that truly cared for me like family. The owner and his wife were incredibly kind and supportive, and the lovely staffs welcomed me warmly and provided all the facilities I needed. Though I stayed for just two days, it was a moment that left a lasting mark on my heart.The room, bed, washroom, and every other facility were exceptional. Golden stars staff were incredibly accommodating with every need. We arrived very early and they gave us somewhere to wait while the room was being cleaned. The hotel is close to small stores and restaurants and 10 minute walk to the Dambulla Cave and Temple entrance. It’s really easy to arrange taxi and safari and Bandara from the hotel helped arrange for us. Recommend get elephant safari with Krishanta who was very good and friendly. The food was delicious and catered to our needs including changing the breakfast and preparing dinner when we asked. The room was large, very clean and had A/C that worked.

    We chose not to climb Sigiriya (having just recovered from Adam's Peak!) but instead chose the much shorter Pidurangala which afforded a fabulous view of Sigiriya. Highly recommended. A visit to the Bawa hotel, Heritance Kandalama, is well worth it as an insight into the brilliant architectural mind of Geoffrey Bawa.

    Dambulla is an excellent base for exploring Kandy, Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa and Sigiriya. We stayed there for 4 Nights and could cover the heritage sites easily. Dambulla Caves are a must-see and so is Sigiriya (just 16 Kms. away). Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa are around an hours drive but Dambulla is much well-connected and less touristy.

    I loved everything they have amazing vibe, nothing was to much trouble . All staff kind and helpful. Dambulla is quiet but has local shops, cafes Pizza Hut, great small restaurant a few miles from Evergreen serving very good food. It's run by the people who run Evergreen. So recommended by me.. Anything you want to do or go and see will be arranged for you Tuk Tuk guy is a staff member . If you need car/driver it will be arranged.

    We were very pleased with our stay at The Green Edge. Stuff was very helpful from the beginning and helped us organize transport from Colombo to Dambulla, and Tuktuks around the neighbourhood. They are really nice, well-mannered people who always try to help their guests. Hotel is very peaceful, quiet and well-kept. Place itself is very clean, cosy. Perfect hotel to relax. And ofc breakfast was very delicious . I recommend this place.

    The People in this Hotel are very kind and they made our stay in Dambulla special :) The cooker, she makes the best curry!! We had everything we need. The beds are comfortable and the room is clean. Also Air conditioning was very good. Also the pool area is very nice :) Although it was quite and green arround, the hotel is situated central. We would come again, thank you!

    Reserved the hotel just as a stopover (location just by bus station) but I wish I could stay longer. Nice hotel with restaurant and bar, place to chill, quiet in the night. Very helpful manager. Nice pressure in (hot!) shower. Nice breakfast. Good potential for a base to visit places around Dambulla.
