A really nice place to stay with super nice owners, with a surprising chance to practice German with them! All three meals we had we were asked what we liked and she prepared them especially for us, with lots of ingredients from their own garden. Their pool and surrounding grounds give the place a really nice and peaceful vibe. The remote from the aircon was missing upon arrival but after asking about it was swiftly found and brought.

I loved everything about Halketha. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with such warmth and hospitality from Chitra, Mary and Nelumi. We were taken to our villa across a beautiful landscaped garden that also stays true to its love for the natural environment. The villa itself was perfection - perfectly decorated, clean, homely but also provided you with a sense that you were in luxury. The outdoor bathroom was a cherry on top, with a beautiful araliya tree in the middle. During our stay, we were not only treated close to family, but the quality of service was nothing like I had seen in Sri Lanka for a long time. The food was authentically Sri Lankan, with a rich yet classic taste. The property is close to mini waterfalls and great walks. This is a stay I will keep coming back to. A reminder that authentic and wholesome experiences still exist in Sri Lanka.

The villa is in a quiet area. The kids had a lot of fun in the pool and enjoyed the different games available like the billiard table. Aloka made sure we had great meals and showed us a river with small waterfalls in the area where the kids could take a swim which was great.

We enjoyed our stay so much. The quietness, the nature, the view on the mountain from balcony. Super nice staff. We walked from hotel 2 km to sinharaya rainforest unesco heritage entrance. We were mesmerized by the nature in the rainforest and the surrounding. The hotel is a Super place.

This wasn't our first stay, so we obviouly like this place. The manager Anand couldn't have been kinder. He looked after us like super VIPs. He was everywhere making sure that we were fine. A big thank you to him. We forgot a swim suit and he offered to send it by courier service to our next hotel, which he did. The hotel itself is small and not for everyone. The rooms needs a complete rework - they don't do this place justice. They are in a poor state. But the location is incredible and I hope, this will never change - please never cut ANY of the trees! This is the biggest asset- the jungle and all its noises, the beautiful light filtering through the canopy.

A Misty Mountain Paradise — Beyond Words Just 1.5 hours from Colombo, yet it feels like stepping into a dream — surrounded by misty mountains, forest, and clouds drifting past your window. The villa itself is breathtaking — glass walls all around, giving the feeling of being in a treehouse suspended in the mist. Sunrise feels magical. The food was exceptional — fresh, natural, and made with love. We mostly chose the local dishes — kiribath served with caramelized onion, homemade salmon(red curry), laveriya, herbal porridge and fresh fruits. Their western cuisine was equally wonderful. No added sugar or artificial flavors and the beautiful presentation made every meal memorable. Mouthwatering lunch wrapped in banana leaves and evening tea with helapa added that special Sri Lankan warmth. The villa was spotless — truly the cleanest place we’ve ever stayed. The owner’s hospitality was beyond comparison, making us feel like family. My daughter loved the short forest hike nearby, and the peaceful surroundings made it so hard to leave. Manarala Villa is pure serenity — a 7-star escape where nature, comfort, and care blend perfectly. We can’t wait to return for a longer stay!

**There are things between heaven and earth that are true gifts for those who manage to find them. This perfectly describes the two incredibly beautiful days we spent at Villa Foresta. The villa itself, built in an Italian Alpine style, is located completely away from civilization, deep in the jungle. You can only reach it with a driver and a 4×4 vehicle. The journey itself becomes part of the experience – expect technical miracles and roads you would never imagine a car could pass. After climbing to almost divine heights, you are welcomed by the owner’s staff, who will spoil you with Sri Lankan cuisine at every possible moment. It truly feels like heavenly manna. The owner is available 24/7 by phone, and even though the staff do not speak English, nothing is ever a problem to arrange. Sleeping in this peaceful villa is pure magic. The small heart-shaped pool perfectly completes the unique atmosphere and genius loci of the place. The kitchen is fully equipped, the fridge ensures maximum comfort during your stay, and a washing machine is also available. The only small downside might be the lower water pressure – but honestly, you are in the middle of the jungle! In the evening, you can play billiards upstairs, while children can enjoy watching TV.
