Upon request, we were able to choose between four egg dishes for breakfast. There was also Hero jam, and nothing was lacking. The room on the spring side was very convenient. It's quiet and offers plenty of room to hang clothes. If you want to enjoy the beautiful view you just have to walk down the stairs and you are right on the Mekong.

The glamping domes are brand-new and exceeded our expectations. The bed, king size with beautiful linen, was without exaggeration the most comfortable I have slept in, in the whole of Southeast Asia. The domes themselves are very large with ample room to move around them. The outdoor shower was a delight to use. Breakfast was included and was brought to our tent and we ate in our private little garden area. It consisted of fresh tropical fruits as entree and a choice of crêpes or eggs and bacon as well as coffee. Really there is nothing negative to say about it.

It's worth staying for a day and a night just to see the...

It's worth staying for a day and a night just to see the historic area with the French colonial buildings. The place was pretty empty when we were there and some restaurants were closed so it's not really that happening during the rainy season. Managed to get two nice sunsets which was a bonus because it was raining for much of the time we were there and we had zero expectations of seeing a sunset on the Mekong whilst in Thakhek. Food was average (but we didn't go to the expensive places).

It's a great view of city and village life.

It's a great view of city and village life. You do the loop and that some what sums up your trip. I did hit the Mountain you take a boat under and I took the "Back road" by mistake and ended up driving 58km though Laos villages Seriously the best part of the trip. I got to see a side of Laos 99% Of tourist never will so def. something worth seeing if you find that back road, its not hard to see if you do the loop backwards from what hotels advise you. the caves are great, Dragon cave is a SERIOUS hike, the first few caves just east of the town are barely 5 minute visits and are used for praying not so. much tourism.

Hostel was great. We arrived in the middle of the night and they left us a message on which beds to use, which was wonderful. 12p. dorm with curtains in between beds and outlets. Dorm was fine but after the Loop we stayed in a twin bed which was even better! Showers have hot water and staff is super nice and helpful. Definitely recommend staying here before and after the Thakhek Loop!

- wonderful helpful host - can organise you SIM card, give Thakhek loop advice, do laundry overnight and book bus tickets - comfortable beds with curtains, good AC, lockers with keys - nice hot showers with soap and shampoo, free towel - tables to sit on outside - 5 minutes walk to everything you need - many options for breakfast

Basic Room, great value for money. Food on premises was really tasty. In fact that made our stay as we didn't to go to find food after a long drive back from the Thakhek loop.
