Very well maintained place, nice big comfi room with ac, good bathroom. Has a nice terrasse and garden for breakfast or chill time. The owners are extremely kind and helpful: they helped us find a transport option to pakse and immediately came to our rescue when a rented scooter failed us. We can't thank them enough for their kindness. There is a nice river restaurant right in front for other meals thank breakfast.

I was in Champassak during the Wat Phou Festival which was...

I was in Champassak during the Wat Phou Festival which was great and interesting and then returned for one night after being in the 4000 Islands before heading north. The Temple are marvellous and would like to see it without all the tourists and festival goers but I enjoyed the festival particularly the opening and the Alms Ceremony for the monks. We went down the Wat Oum Tomo by a small private boat - a 2 hour trip each way around the island, but it was well worth it. Champassak is peaceful and encourages relaxation although I found bicycling in the rice paddies gave me insight into country life. My most vivid memory is sitting by the Mekong and watching the most beautiful sunrises I have ever seen over a river that was as still as glass.

The roads in Champasak are very bad with massive pot holes,...

The roads in Champasak are very bad with massive pot holes, I recommend to hire a 4wd. Pakse has lots of markets to look at and there are some beautiful waterfall to look at just 1-2 hours drive. The Mekong river is amazing to look at also. I highly recommend going to the Vat Phou.

The hotel had all modern reqiurements and my room had a beautiful view of the Mekong River and a stunning sunrise that I could see from my bed if desired. The restaurant was excellent and it was great to be able to cool off and relax beside the pool. Although I did not have time to use them there were bicycles available free to ride to the town and surrounding countryside. The staff were helpful and polite.

Meals, good range of choice both traditional Laos or more European breakfast / meal options available. You could as little or as much as you wanted. Owners & staff very helpful & friendly. Ranged a couple of tours for us whilst we were there.

La Folie Lodge is a wonderful place with very friendly staff and great location to explore the South of Laos. The sunsets and the Mekong view from the bungalows are just breathtaking!
