My mother, who suffered a stroke, is unable to fly, so she can only travel domestically. I've long wanted to visit a special Korean hotel with my four sisters and my mother. Gyeongwonje was the hotel that really stood out to me, providing a wonderful experience. It was a wonderful opportunity for me to complete a photo op with my family.

Excellent location, easy walking distance to restaurants and bars. Small eateries surrounding for that local touch and not too far to the metro. Wonderfully furnished large room, bed and smart TV with a luxurious double bath and that Japanese toilet! ( I want one of these). The free freshly brewed coffee and ice were gratefully accepted and helped to make this a memorable stay. The staff were friendly, approachable and went that extra mile to help us with even with our limited Korean language skills. We look forward to returning.

The room was very elegant, with an atmosphere that almost resembled the interiors of royal palace chambers. Everything was well-maintained and spotless. The bathroom was well-equipped, featuring a whirlpool bathtub. Everything was super organized and clean; staff was very friendly and helpful. Although the room was not big Breakfast was good! The format was a bit unexpected – breakfast is delivered to the room in the morning and is left outside on the door handle. This means there's no pressure to actually get up and go to the restaurant at a specific time – the breakfast will be waiting for you whenever you get up (it gets cold by noon, but that's physics). It also means that you need to decide where to eat it; the room was not terribly large, and so we took our breakfasts with us to the parks on some mornings. Oh, and the breakfast does not include coffee – you can get it for free from the coffee machine at the reception Laundry service was very convenient. TV was huge! Getting through the settings to change the menu to English was not very easy, but as an external monitor it worked great.
