Malindi is currently regarded as the "dead town" but in my opinion, it's the perfect escape from all sorts of pollution- Instantly replaced by the facinating historical landmarks like hell's kitchen & Mambrui in totality, peace & serene, are just some of the healing that Malindi has to offer.

If you can cook in Malindi, please cook.

If you can cook in Malindi, please cook. Chefs are also too expensive but if you are up for it, great. The customer service in Malindi is questionable, some restaurants even packing sub food as your take away. Also, the locals especially tour guides try to rip you off compared to other coastal towns, its quite annoying. Make sure you have someone who knows their way around Malindi so that you can be linked up.

Malindi town is typical of Kenya with a market, supermarket, lots of traders and as a tourist you are well served. It is a quiet safe area but restaurants tend to be quiet at night with few customers.If you want nightlife there are clubs and beach parties til 3am or later .

Cool laid back town. Action is on the beach. Local foods like fish, calamari, prawns easily gotten-mostly in the evening. Its a 'crime' not to use a motor bike(boda boda) to tour the town on foot! Annoying whistles and hoots from the riders- just avoid eye contact! Malindi town is easy to walk around. Coffee lovers have a huge choice- kahawa tungu( peppered with cinnamon&ginger powder)- on the bench at every turn of road -or- in Italian themed coffee joints by the beach and main streets. Lo Sfizio restaurant- along Lamu road is a great one.- Malaika Restaurant- Buntwani Beach is another.

Easy town to move around. Not that many pedestrian walkways. From my last visit(2023) there is an upgrade though. Need for more coffee places. The beach areas could be more cleaner. For coffee and lovely delicious snacks,go to Malaika restaurant opposite the Buntwani Beach Front. Walking is the healthiest way to move around Malindi,just don't give a visual contact with the boda boda taxis( you will ride unwillingly!) Avoid the Tikka chicken with coloured(yellow) spicing.

The information on Booking.com about Malindi is an accurate representation of what I found on site. I visited the following places: Galana Shopping Centre Vasco da Gama Pillar Portuguese Chapel Malindi Marine National Park. I occasionally ate out from a wide range of restaurants in the city centre. It was quite easy to move around Malindi and I currently have no experience of places to avoid while in Malindi.

A beautifully maintained place with friendly service and many attractions, including swimming pools, optional activities, volleyball, sculpture, palm leaf weaving, and much more. The hotel also offers safaris, sea and land excursions, and other optional excursions. The food was varied and delicious. There was always some evening entertainment, such as karaoke or dancing. Guests' safety and peace of mind were also ensured. Security was always on duty at the beach.

I liked the area of the hotel location took me 5 minutes to get to the coco beach with my kids and access the Golden beach at the same time..the people around are so friendly, I got a warm welcome from the hotel keepers without forgetting the Baba Lao himself ..i noticed there are free taps outside that runs with clean drinking water throughout which are for whoever feels thirsty..it was an owesome stay .

Lovely villa with with a couple of swimming pools. Very clean and comfortable. Walking distance from the beach (though we didn't go), quite a few good restaurants in the neighborhood and a short drive away from Malindi town. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The cottage is close to the Silversand Beach. This is the only Beach in Malindi, that is good for Kite Surfing. The kitchen is good equipped, with microwave, coffee machine and toaster. A washing machine in in the house too.
