This is THE best place in Yufuin. It was really easy to check in. Yes it's a bit further away from the city centre which makes it a bit more difficult to get to if you don't have a car (you can walk it or take a taxi up there) but it has the most epic view of the mountain. There are two onsens that everyone at the hotel can use, but they are effectively private as once you are in them you lock the door and you can have them to yourselves. The water is fantastic. Refreshing and makes you feel very relaxed. I would stay here at the drop of a hat again. Also make sure you walk up to Oogosha shrine (only 5 mins away) where you can get the experience of visiting a HUGE cedar tree temple and a bamboo forest that is 10x better than Arashiyama.

Without doubt one of the most wonderful accommodations I’ve stayed in in Japan. The size of this multi-roomed apartment really surprised me. Amazingly spacious AND with my own private Japanese garden and onsen. Really a wonderful place and the owner Ikeda-san was incredibly helpful offering me lifts and pick ups all the time in his car. Great guy!

Very very very convenient location, just few steps a way from yufuin bus terminal. Next to the hotel is Unagi rice restaurant. Hotel equipped with private onsen and sauna, though small but just nice, no complaint. Hotel has in house cafe too. Room is super spacious and with superb nice vibe. Love it love it love it ! Will stay here again if return to Yufuin next time.

Huge room. Beautiful decor. The atmosphere. It's situated in the forest so it's very peaceful and quiet. Extremely yummy food. You will get to use the private bath for free per day of your stay. Beautiful selection of yutaka also free to choose. Staffs are all very friendly and can speak English fairly well.

It was really present. I stayed for a night with my mom and daughter. Onsen was beautiful and the owner is very kind. The fudon was just awsome! I high recommend Yamanami. Thank you for the owner for everything.
