It was hands down the best place I've stayed in Japan so far! Huge rooms with lots of space. Great amenities. Had an ocean view from upstairs which was incredible. It was very easy to find and had parking available. We had such a lovely stay and our hosts were super communicative and friendly! Would highly recommend.

"Shared bathroom" means "Public Bath", ONLY! Staff speaks very little English. Room had a funny smell. The japanese style room is authentic, otherwise rooms are sparsely furnished. Hot/cold water machine, unlimited tea, optional bento box.

The cottage had everything we wanted and needed, so did the grounds and service provided. The property had washing machines with detergent and vending machines with snacks, heatable meals and drinks. Our room was clean and well-equipped with a little kitchen, nice toilet and a tv. The porch had a nice relaxing area with a bench and even a hammock you can hang up yourself. The owner is very conscientious and considerate, he’s thought of everything! There’s even a massager in the room if you are hiking as well as a foldable drying rack (with a place to hang it). He also helped us to book a car last minute and is always very responsive even when not around on the property. Highly recommend. :)

It was a great pleasure to stay at the place. The barbecue option is a find! It made our stay unforgettable. The beds were very comfortable, house is spotless, kitchen is functional. Suginoko is an awesome place! If you come to Yakoshima with the ferry, it's not that far away from Anbo and easy to get there of foot, and with the bus as well! The accomodation is clean, cozy, it embraces the nature. Ayumi-san is really helpful and were super nice whenever we had "problems" or questions! Cheers Daniel & Chieri

Very helpful staff even though we arrived quite late, very sweet and charming lady who helped us order food for the very long hike of the day after (saved our day!). She also had many recommendations flyers about the hike, even though she didn't speak English, we appreciated this a lot! Great place to leave early for Jomon sugi 👍
