Very clean and Simple modern design. Prices are reasonable. I hardly find a Japanese style TATAMI room for single person anywhere else inJapan. Some rooms haven’t a shower but you can use ONSEN ( hot springs). The ROTEN BURO ( outside hot springs) is cosy but beautiful. They provide japanese wears after having a hot spring. Hotel Staff provided great service.

The location was very nice. It’s right across from Family Mart and the beach is behind the Family Mart. I had a nice view from my room and could see the water. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel was clean and quiet, perfect for a solo trip around the Christmas holiday. I think that this place has an excellent charm to it, which you can see as soon as you walk in the door. I love the decorations in the common area and seating as well as the panda decorations. I’m so happy I chose to stay here. It wasn’t terribly crowded and my room was very nice, with a well-functioning thermostat, and a bathroom in my room. The bed was comfy, and I also had access to a TV, couch, desk, and a variety of lighting in my room. It was exactly what I needed for the weekend. If you have an opportunity to stay here, I definitely recommend it. As a bonus, it’s right near Shirahama Bus Center, which makes travel super easy!! Quick bus ride from Shirahama Station, which has a lot of lines linking up to Shin-Osaka. I took advantage of the location to get to Adventure World, and navigation was fairly easy. Wonderful trip, warm thank you to the woman at the front desk. She was very helpful, informative, and accommodating.

We are Americans so we had really little knowledge of Shirahama as a resort city. It was at the tail end of a 3 week tour of Japan and was very restful. Fortunately, we were there after Golden Week and before the main tourist season, so it was quiet and relaxing. We had fun over two nights at a local Turkish restaurant, Blue Bar. We'd recommend it. Also, the beach seemed quite nice although we had one day or rain so we didn't hang out there. While this wouldn't be a regular stop for Americans, I think it is worthwhile and an easy train ride to the airport in Osaka.

You will need a few days to visit all the places that Shirahama has to offer. The beach if fabulous, heard that the sand was import from Perth, Australia. is great, white and fine. There is a few spots to eat, but not too family oriented, maybe it was because we went off season. The onsens around the area are ideal to relax and recover energy. Check out the feet onsen over looking Engetsuto Island.

Beautiful beach, awesome landscapes, and great restaurants.

Beautiful beach, awesome landscapes, and great restaurants. Highly recommend visiting the Sandanbeki cliffs, gorgeous views. Also go to Ashiato if you want delicious American style sandwiches. Look for the "American Sando" banners/signs right by the Shirahama Beach bus stop. There is a small aquarium that is nice and a very interesting fertility shrine called "kanki" that you should visit as well. If you come in August you might be able to catch some phenomenal fireworks. The bus is very easy to use, it basically just goes up and down the coast, where most everything you want to see/do is. There are some theme parks and onsens too but we didn't have time for them, unfortunately.

The beautiful scenery and few crowds are advantages of...

The beautiful scenery and few crowds are advantages of Shirahama, and my stay there was indeed very pleasant. However, there are a few things I really have to complain about. First, the transportation is extremely inconvenient. There are long queues to buy tickets for the Kuroshio Ferry, and you might not even be able to get a seat. Standing tickets aren't much cheaper either. After finally arriving in Shirahama, you still have to transfer to buses, which are infrequent and often overcrowded. Second, eating is a hassle. Many local restaurants don't even have English menus and only accept phone reservations. Several restaurants I went to were unhelpful and even forced me to buy drinks, as if they didn't want to do business with foreign tourists. Third, a large number of businesses only accept cash, even the famous "Coral Reef" seafood restaurant on Engetsu Island. This is a puzzling point and very inconvenient.

There are more restaurants and ample parking compared to before, so I enjoyed my time there. It's a shame that some long-established inns have gone out of business, hidden gems are gone, and most importantly, the pandas at Adventure World are gone, but this is an international issue, so I hope they'll come back. There were a lot of young people at Shirarahama Beach, and I'd like to go swimming there next time. The ramen was delicious, and there were many inbound staff at each facility (as is the case with any tourist destination), giving it a very international feel. Energy Land is a fun experience. Adventure World and Safari are also worth experiencing. It was a sunny Sunday, and there wasn't any heavy traffic, so getting around was easy. Sandanbeki is especially recommended.

The ocean views are unbeatable, there are many attractions but they're not far apart, it's not crowded and quite peaceful, and the numerous hot spring baths are perfect for relieving the fatigue of travel. The most praiseworthy spots are Shirarahama White Beach, Engetsu Island, and Senjojiki. Be sure to visit at sunset or during the early morning/evening rush hour; all three places offer magical moments, making the trip truly worthwhile. For food, the Toretore Seafood Market and the milk cups at the ice cream shop near the market, as well as KEY's sea bream soup noodles, are must-try! Download the COGICOGI bicycle rental app; it's incredibly convenient in Shirarahama, allowing you to stop and go as you please, and it's very affordable. If you're a couple traveling together, be sure to visit Engetsu Island/Shirarahama White Beach during peak hours for a leisurely stroll and feel surrounded by romance!

The hotel is located right opposite the beach, great place to be while having your foot Onsen. The Onsen in the hotel is a great relief after a long drive. A bit disappointed that they did not open up the outdoor Onsen, but the indoor Onsen was great. There weren't many people in the Onsen the day I was there, so it was quiet and nice. The room was comfortable and the bed was comfortable.
