This is probably the best ski accommodation I've stayed in Japan. The location is excellent, the room has ample space, not to mention a safe, meaning i don't have to carry my passports and backup cash with me to the slopes. An oversized drying room means skis, poles etc can be placed easily without having to worry about scratching other people's gear. There are also two pool tables, once next to the bar and one in a games room which also has ping pong and foosball - all of which my children happily indulged in after a day of skiing. And, a private open air Onsen. This is accommodation is simply magnificent. The host - Lisa, is lovely and helpful - she assisted us with every aspect of the stay - from moving luggage from another accommodation, to booking taxi and late night food.

I stayed here once during ski season last year and had such a great time that I decided to stay again this year when I visited Myoko. The lodge has been stylishly renovated, and the dining area in particular is a great place to relax while taking in the view. The tatami rooms are equipped with cute low tables, giving them a Japanese feel. The futons and pillows are also comfortable, making for a great night's sleep. The loungewear provided in each room was very comfortable, and my friend liked it so much that she researched where to buy some when she got home! There are also separate large public baths for men and women, allowing us to relax and unwind. The staff were also very helpful and kind when we needed assistance. During ski season, the lift to the gondola is right across the lodge, making this the perfect location for skiing and snowboarding. There are only a few restaurants open within walking distance during winter time. Most of them are owned by a Australians.

The staff were amazing. Went above and beyond the entire time we stayed and really felt welcomed into their accommodation. Before asking they were always offering to help us get to where we needed and were overall the most hospitable stay we've had in Japan. Breakfast was very tasty and generous and you get a lot of really good tasting food for the price you pay, bother for dinner and breakfast. Couldn't be more happy with our stay.

The hosts are wonderful people. Made me feel very welcome and at home whilst I stayed. They were friendly and kind, helped me and showed me new things. I felt apart of the family whilst I was there. Very well cared for. The facilities were comfortable and clean. I enjoyed the traditional sleeping arrangements. The food was exceptional, I wish I could eat there all day every day. The location was easy to find and was very close to the ski lift. I will absolutely stay again.

Ted and his team are delightful. We had a lovely time at beautiful, eclectic Lake Nojiri. It's a hidden gem close to more ski fields than 10 days could do justice. Breakfast was great and kept us going most of the day.
