FAQs about hotels in Osaka

A Stronghold of Japanese Culture

At the meeting point of river and sea, huge Osaka combines forward-thinking development and sure-footed tradition. This is symbolised in its temple-like, 16th century castle, guarded by ramparts and enlivened by vibrant spring cherry blossom. Dominating the surrounding skyline is Osaka Business Park, a reminder of the city’s strong role in the Japanese economy.

However, the most striking skyscraper is the Umeda Sky Building - 2 towers connected by a rooftop terrace offering far-reaching views. The nearby Osaka and Umeda train stations are linked by underground shopping centres, while the shops of Shinsaibashi’s America Village appeal to a younger crowd. Dōtonbori’s neon lights promote more shops, as well as restaurants considered the best in Osaka. In a city touted as Japan’s culinary capital, that’s quite an accolade.

The Tsūtenkaku tower overlooks Tennōji Park, home of the Osaka Municipal Museum of Art. Another nearby park houses Shitennō-ji, one of Japan’s oldest Buddhist temples.

The Kyocera Dome Osaka is a shrine of baseball, and more thrills are at waterfront Universal Studios Japan, the country’s 2nd largest theme park. Also by the sea is Kansai International Airport, on its own artificial island.

The capsule hotel was invented in Osaka, and alongside this type of accommodation, Booking.com also offers luxury hotels with pools, cheap hostels and traditional ryokans.

Only here for four days so we did not get to see and experience everything we wanted. Would come back and use as a base for day trips to other places. It was very crowded during beginning of October but didn’t disrupt us. Loved the energy, food and TikTok cosmetic shopping for the teens at home 🤣. Needed more time!

The best city I visited in Japan!

The best city I visited in Japan! The nightlife, food, shopping, and people were all fabulous! If there's one place you don't want to miss, it's Osaka. Definitely try Shinsaibashi Shopping Street if you're into shopping. As for breakfast places, I highly recommend Maze Terrace Cafe (the BEST breakfast I've ever had) and Bread, Espresso, and Sakasuji Club for world-class service, decor, and pastries!

A beautiful and friendly city, modern, yet classical with charms of yesteryear and modernity. A beautiful playground that entertains you at every turn, Osaka basically spoils you and make yo addictive for more. The transport system is fantastic, whether you utilize the metro for local areas or the plentiful other trains lines to Nara or Kobe, it is so easy to use the system and extremely cheap.

I love temples and shrines, and was not disappointed.

I love temples and shrines, and was not disappointed. If you speak Japanese, the rakugo shows at the nearby theater were funny and very reasonably priced. A walk along the river at Nakanoshima park promises beautiful roses...and if you are a Geocacher, you will have plenty to do! Don't miss the covered shopping arcade at Tenjinbashi....so old-timey and and fun!

Osaka is a good base to use to visit the tourist (and other area) attractions such as Kyoto, Nara, Kobe with easy train trips. Osaka itself is big enough to have many attractions and activities and be small enough to navigate relatively easily. The food choice is fantastic and do some research to find what interests you I highly recommend this city and have spent weeks here

Osaka has a good subway system, which is easy to navigate, if your first time here maybe stay near Namba or adjacent areas as all the shopping, restautrants are close by, Osaka is mostly flat and a grid layout close in so walking around it is difficult to get lost. Going out to night clubs at night felt safe, never had any issues, at same time to be respectful to other commuter's and restaurant owners/staff. One of the traditional cafes had a couple of ninety year olds running cafe, some times their daughter were there to help sometimes not, so return used plates and cups to counter before leaving, sometime collect food from counter, so you read situation watch what others do, be polite. In most places you return trays and plates to counters before you leave. Look around you can find great value in restaurants for example 380 yen for Egg, toast, Blend coffee, water. Maybe with hotdog 680 yen

Excellent modern hotel in the Namba district and the best one we had during our Japan trip. The room was big, very clean and comfortable (especially the bed, which we actually loved). The location is perfect as you can reach every relevant location in Osaka from there in a very short time. Endless good restaurants (including local non-touristic ones), cafés and bakeries are within 15 minutes footwalk range. Clear recommendation for any Osaka tourist visit!

The property is very nice and modern. I liked the room as it felt more spacious than most hotels in Japan, especially for the cheap price. The staff was also very nice and they had a lot of amenities If necessary. 15 min walk to Namba station which has a direct train line for Kansai International Airport if you fly from Osaka.

Chuan House Dotonbori was the perfect stay for us as it offers more room than many other hotels in Japan which was ideal as we stayed a bit longer in Osaka. The location was also nice as everything in Dotonbori is within walking distance but it was still very peaceful at night. Can def recommend!

Great location, very close to Dotombori and other attractions, train station just behind the hotel. Roof top with great view over Osaka. Small rooms but that is what you would expect from Apa hotels and other in Japan, clean room and access to microwave. Shop inside the hotel.

It’s a short 15 minute metro to the main sights of Osaka so it’s well located even though it’s a little bit out of the main action. AC, fridge and hot water pot were welcome. Room was bigger than other higher rated Japanese hotels I’ve stayed in.
