The time when we went to the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb site was...

The time when we went to the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb site was probably not the best time as there seemed to have been at least one cruise ship full of tourists that were in a hurry to see the museum and the site nearest the blast. In addition there were bus loads of students that were also visiting the museum. Hence the museum was really packed and the guests were almost being hurried along just so the queue to enter will not become too long. In this manner, we were not able to see all of the exhibits in the museum nor were we able to linger around the more interesting ones as well. The park was huge but was still filled up with tourists and students. We were still able to enjoy the sculptures that were donated by different countries. These did not, however, prevent one from feeling the enormity of the effect of the bomb.

We got one day pass for the buses.

We got one day pass for the buses. It was so easy and very convenient to go and see places. We explore the city by changing the buses. The places of interest were in walking distance from the bus stops; Peace Park, Urakami Catholic Church, Basilica OURA ( UNESCO ), Glover garden, Megane Bridge and much more. With the City bus you can not go outside the city.

Enjoyed the countryside scenery and driving without toll ways made it more interesting but longer. Get use to paid parking everywhere which is not expensive and ensure you have data roaming for gps. Driving is a breeze, 40klm speed limit max 80klm on expressway. Locals are courteous drivers and stickers for road rules. Google translate for help at petrol stations and elsewhere is ideal.

Visiting Peace Park and all the sights related to the atomic bombing. And even catch a J-League match between V-Varen Nagasaki and Oita Trinity. Nagasaki Stadium City is amazing! Love the design of the stadium and the match-going experience!

Nagasaki has a very interesting history.

Nagasaki has a very interesting history. It was the area in Japan that was the first to settle foreigners especially religious missionaries. Many churches and businesses were started there. I have lived in Tokyo for over 25 years, but seeing places outside of there such as Sapporo and Nagasaki among others gives a much wider view and impression of the country. Nagasaki is a must visit for anyone coming to experience Japan. It's really cool riding the many streetcars (trams) that run all over the city. There are many historical sites to visit which include ancient temples and the Atomic Bomb Museum. A can't miss museum is the site where the 26 martyrs were executed. They exhibit an actual letter written by St. Francis Xavier among others.

Small town with a lot of history. 1 full day was sufficient (2 nights). In the morning we visited the Atomic Bomb Museum and Peace Park area. After lunch we ventured out to the Glover House, which is really very nice. It gives a good overview of the history of Nagasaki and Japan in general. The art museum would have been a nice add-on, but there was an imense queue so we skipped.

The hotel lobby was beautiful- even a pianist! Breakfast view and food wonderful. Loved the ladies bathing facilities- brand new looking and so relaxing. Individual bathtubs or larger baths, sauna etc. Staff were all so welcoming and helpful. Perfectly situated in the middle of Nagasaki’s main attractions. Streetcar stop right outside. We also did the nighttime free shuttle to the ropeway (book online for that from 12pm on the day - the hotel will give you a leaflet with the details).

Private room was cheaper than a dorm bed would have been on the weekend in Fukuoka. It was small but well equipped and clean, this hotel is high standard for a very good rate, excellent value! Nagasaki is a very beautiful city, worth to spend a few days there and Hotel Wing Port is the perfect base. Location is also great, steps from the JR station and next to the coach terminal, in the very centre between all the attractions.

Close to the train station, with Nagasaki easy to get around by tram and the trams passing by this same spot. Very quiet location with fabulous view to shrine and Kannon on the hill behind the hotel. Great to have washing machine in the room. More space than usual for a hotel room in Japan, and the bonus of kitchen space as well. Friendly staff at check in.

The hotel is a single tram ride from Nagasaki Station, so took just a few minutes to get there once we had arrived in the city. Very good location, just by the harbour area, with shops, bars and restaurants nearby, as well as Glover Garden and museums. Good breakfast, all staff very helpful. Decent and surprisingly spacious room.

This hotel is very conveniently located right at the train station with easy access to the tram line. The staff were lovely and the room was impeccable, very clean, comfortable, and spacious. I simply wouldn't choose to stay anywhere else when I visit Nagasaki again.
