I have nothing bad to say about this hotel except it might be a little bit hard to reach. We went there by car so for us there were no problem and the hotel offer shuffle busses free of charge from the train station. We booked a room with private onsen and it was perfect with beautiful view over the ocean. The room was spacious, the included breakfast was good, staff was really friendly, we had a great time here. We went here during the low season in the fall/winter but I think it will be really beautiful in the summer as well since they have sitting places outside.

The hotel seems very oldschool, which we found charming. The interoir was off age but everything was clean and fine. For the price and location i would stay here Again 100 percent. I quess the bad ratings are from People who is used to New hotels.

We have never experienced this kind of luxury in our lives….. this place and environment totally blew our minds! We had te luxury to stay in the villa, and exceeded all our expectations. The views, the pool, the sauna, the hotspring tub, the fireplace, the BBQ… it was more than enough to really end our holiday totally relaxed! We were supposed to go to Tokyo the last 3 days of our holiday, but we where glad that we canceled that, and went to Shikuoka instead! The falls and wasabi fields and hikes nearby were great excursions, and then come back to the villa was a real dream! Also there were no other guests, so we had the whole place for ourselves…. Yamamoto-San is very gracious & hospitable. He prepared a private hot bath for us which was a pleasant surprise. the place is exceptionally clean with a homely feel. Delicious Japanese breakfast set was by meticulously prepared by Yamamoto-San & his wife. We enjoyed our stay. It is recommended that u have a car to reach Pension Sakuraya to enjoy the stay thoroughly
