We had a great stay in Nanten-en! The staff is very nice and always ready to help. The place is lovely (room, garden, etc), just next to the Amami train station. The onsen is a nice experience, very relaxing. Diner in the room is fabulous (different dishes are served) and bed are very comfy. We highly recommend to stay at Nanten-en to live fully the ryokan experience :)

As night falls, the faint scent of tatami mats and the starlight unique to the countryside create a truly magical and peaceful time. Even brewing a simple cup of tea in the small, charming kitchen felt like a special ritual. Rather than offering modern conveniences or luxury, this place gives you the rare gift of letting your heart truly unwind. Beautiful view of the mountains and the city. Very close to Osaka and so easy to get to. Rooms were large and clean. Staff were very kind and helpful. Breakfast was fantastic.

The hotel was conveniently located near the train station with lots of restaurants nearby. The hotel staff was helpful and gave me good recommendations. The room was spacious, with a big working bench where you can work comfortably with your computer and other stuffs. After work, you might relax on the sofa in the hotel room. I was very satisfied cos I paid a moderate amount and I could get such a spacious and tidy room in a convenient location. This was good value for money.
