There’s only one hotel like this in the world — and it’s right here. You walk deep into the mountainside, through a dark corridor that feels like a secret passageway, and then step into your private suite — and your breath is taken away. A luxurious private room with a stunning balcony and a relaxing jacuzzi — it feels like it’s just you and your partner alone in the world. The view of the endless sea is absolutely breathtaking, like a dream come true. In the morning, we were treated to a ten-course breakfast at the restaurant above — each dish better than the last. The staff were professional, friendly, and always smiling — taking care of everything we needed.

Very close to Izumoshi Station, so it is very easy catching a bus to Izumo Taisha for example. The room was spacious and clean, excellent for a one or two-night stay. The breakfast is excellent, restaurant quality, and there is also a wonderful, friendly little soba noodle place a couple of meters from the hotel entrance.

I visited several places in Shimane and Tottori Prefectures and the Dormi Inn is perfectly located for this purpose. The hotel is located directly at the train station exit, there are lots of restaurants in the vicinity. The room was quite spacious because I had a double room for single use. The thermal spa on the top floor is superb, you can relax outside in 42°C hotspring water. You can program the TV to let you fall asleep listening to three different kinds of relaxation music, very nice.

The staff service was exceptional. This is definitely our favourite Ryokan. The bathing facilities are great, especially after long walks! Next time we are back in Izumo we will definitely book this hotel. Food is really good, for drinkers it's worth going for the unlimited deal.
