We overnighted here while exploring Shikoku by car. The hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful given our poor Japanese. The room was large with a nice view over the river. There are several restaurants nearby. The hotel has male and female onsen and a large heated pool. We opted for breakfast which was Japanese style and excellent. Would make a great base to stay for a few days to explore the region, lots to see.

A beautifully kept Ryokan with the charme of tradition and the comfort of a modern guest house. We enjoyed every minute, and our host was very helpful and lovely! A great region to explore, especially Yusuhara with Kengo Kuma Architecture and a beautiful setting in mountainous landscape.

During our pilgrimage along the 88 Temples Trail, staying at JR Clement Uwajima was one of the most pleasant and revitalizing experiences we had. Before facing a challenging 30 km stage, we treated ourselves to a stay here — and it couldn’t have been better. The services offered are truly outstanding: free happy hour, 24-hour coffee and drinks, a smoking area on every floor, vending machines, microwaves, and beautiful, well-curated amenities. The room was extremely comfortable, with a great bed and a spacious, modern shower. You can feel the attention to detail and the guest’s well-being. Also, the location is strategic, perfect for exploring the area. My sincerest compliments to the hotel manager and the entire staff: a wonderful example of Japanese hospitality.

Super friendly and helpful staff. Bike friendly hostel with a safe place to park bicycles and pumps and tools to borrow. They recommended a nice izakaya for dinner and it was a great. Bed was really comfy.

Exceptional in every sense! I loved my stay. The host is the nicest owner you could ever meet, so friendly, so willing to help and a good linguist too. I cannot thank him enough for the kind welcome and advice on where to cycle next. The house is much bigger than the photos show with really cool lounging about spaces all over! Much love and care has gone into making the place feel fun and comfortable. Stay as many nights as you can! The local restaurants are excellent and there’s a local supermarket and plenty of sake!
