Wonderful place! A warm and welcoming couple runs this place. The food was exceptional. Highly recommend!

Rie is such a wonderful and kind host. Although we stayed just one night, she made it so memorable. The moment we arrived she helped us with an excellent dinner recommendation and reservation and walked us over - explaining the history of the area to us. She even made sure that the accommodation was heated up before we arrived. I can't recommend this place and Rie enough.

Very cozy accommodation with everything you need. We really enjoyed the food and cocktails in the bar. I asked the barkeeper for a surprise cocktail creation and got one of the best cocktails I've ever had.

We were slightly sceptical about this place as it only had two reviews, but we are so glad we booked. This was a great guesthouse with traditional Japanese rooms in a gorgeous village. The host was incredibly helpful (even walking us to a local restaurant to make sure we got a space as everywhere was fully booked). We felt incredibly welcome, had comfy beds, a lovely room, and everything we needed.

The cottages are quite basic, but nice old Japanese style and the view from the terrace is amazing. The host also arranged me a brand new electric mountain bike which worked very well for me to see the area around, such as Aso volcano and Takachiho gorge. The WiFi worked like a charm. Definitely recommend!
