We visited Hirosski to view the Castle and the Rice Paddy Art. These are both easy to visit. We were delighted to find that it is the apple centre of Japan and this was well reflected by the information available and the cartoon characters at the station.Guest review byRogerNew Zealand - 10.0
The host, Akira, greeted us with a glass of their local...
The host, Akira, greeted us with a glass of their local apple juice (from their neighbor actually). It was a nice surprise! The house is located on a nice and quiet neighborhood and is surrounded by apple orchards. Since this is a home stay, towels aren’t included but you can request them for ¥100 per person. They offered to change the sheets after 3 days but we declined. Akira’s wife, Yo’ne, even took stride to learn how to ask “Did you have a good night’s sleep” in our language. She stated that she does that for every international guests they have. It was nice personal touch. If you plan to stay here, you’ll need a car as it’s about 15 minutes from the city center. However, the Go app (Japan’s version of Uber) works fine albeit a little pricier than the big cities. Other than that, we had a very lovely stay.Guest review byGingUnited States - 8.0

A lovely city that takes pride in their history, agriculture, and festivals. I greatly enjoyed my walk around Hirosaki castle and the surrounding park/gardens. While I might have arrived slightly too early for the famed Cherry Blossoms, I was able to experience the festival that had already begun in earnest. It is very evident that Hirosaki is the apple capital of Japan. Hirosaki is excellent option as a base to explore north...
Hirosaki is excellent option as a base to explore north Tóhoku. Very close to Iwaki-san, very close to Aomori city, very close to Ódate (Akita Inu centre). Excellent apples and okonomiyakis, juicy corn on Iwaki-san, spelndid Hirosaki castle! Very laid back and relaxed city but still many options to be entertained or go shopping. Close to Hirosaki castle. Some interesting history to be discovered in the house. The tatami were wonderful, as was the yukata provided. The room was a bit old but very clean and equipped. Considering that price the location was more than decent - 15 min from the train station, 15 min from the castle and very close to where restaurants are.
