The private onsen inside your room and the cordiality/warmth of Shiva and his family are a fantastic experience. Rhe dinner is fantastic. Whether you are Japanese or foreign, you will be impressed by the diversity of options and the care with which the food is prepared. The room is huge, and the comfort provided at the inner onsen is mostly what makes the rating 10/excellent, despite the location to arrive on foot with baggage, if you are not driving or lose the specific bus.

This is the perfect place. The room smells new, is spotlessly clean, and has amenities for your comfort, both in the room and at the reception. I stayed on days with very low temperatures, and the room was a warm and clean refuge. Like all traditional places in Japan, the bathroom is separate from the room area, which increases the feeling of cleanliness. Use the onsen at the hotel itself, and you also get vouchers to use the main Hirayuno Mori, for a price well below the main hotel. A fantastic experience!

Hotel staffs were really nice and helpful, the hotel was very clean and nice, and the onsen was amazing! We had our own private onsen in our room but we also tried the private outdoor as well and both were amazing. Breakfast and dinner were amazing as well. We love the free coffee, beer, tofu and ice creams. Would totally visit again!

The place was absolutely charming - it felt like staying at a Japanese grandmother’s home. The host was an elderly woman who ran the entire pension herself and prepared amazing food. The property is beautiful and very traditional, with its own private natural onsen. The only downside is that there are no showers in the rooms or even in the building - you can only shower in the onsen area. It wasn’t a big issue, considering the overall experience
