Best for experiencing the Dead Sea at a leisurely pace. One should only select the locations having direct access to the dead sea. We stayed at the Samarah resort so didn't actually go into the city, and didn't feel the need to. The facilities here may not be as good as found in other parts of Jordan. It all depends on the hotel/ staying accommodation selected. I like the location and the staff at the bar. They were friendly and polite. In my opinion this hotel should be 3 star. The breakfast had very limited choice of food; cleanliness much to be desire, staff didn't speak English (or barely speak) with bar staff be the exception. However my worse experience was with the lady that was security guard at the entrance to the hotel. I felt she was getting great pleasure in checking my grocery shopping!! This city was a city on the shores of the Dead Sea. There were no places of entertainment for tourists in the city. Of course, being close to the Dead Sea has its advantages. There are many interesting historical sites in the vicinity of this city, which are definitely worth visiting, but since public transport is not available, be sure to consider the lack or inaccessibility of public transport to tourists. That is why it is important that you also rent a car before booking a hotel here, so that you can visit the sights in the vicinity of the city. We applied to a car rental company and were very satisfied with the professional service, and I would like to share my experience with you. Dirty/not super clean, sticky surfaces, run down spa. The breakfast was not worth it. I would give it 4 out of 10 for cleanliness, 7 out of 10 for attentive staff, 8 out of 10 for pools and access to Dead Sea. Spa facility 4 out of 10. But sunset over Dead Sea was 10 out of 10. There is direct private beach access (and a tub of mud for mudding), really nice pools, and a great view of the sea from the pool. The pool area has a reasonably priced restaurant so you can eat by the pool. The house is large and well equipped, on the ground floor with direct access to the pool area, and has a massive TV!
