Everything in this property is new, and I love it. The rooms have a sea view, which I really like. The host sent us videos explaining how to reach the property. It’s located in Volastra, a bit far from the five villages, but that’s not a problem for us. We walk down to the villages while others have to walk up — walking downhill is much easier for us than going uphill. On the way down, we can enjoy the beautiful views. There are limited buses that go to the property, so you have to be on time. You should try the ‘ham’ for breakfast in the mini supermarket.

The property is located in a cute little town with easy bus access to Manarola, as well as on trails to Corniglia, Manarola, Riomaggiore, etc. The 2 bedrooms are good size and with comfortable beds. The bathroom was clean and well equipped, including extra towels. The kitchen/dining had sufficient utensils, pots, cups, etc. for convenient use. The relatively large fridge, gas stove top, bake oven, etc. can easily accommodate those staying longer. And there was a dishwasher and clothes washing machine as well.

We loved our stay at La Bottega di Volastra. The little village was located at the top of the hillside, and the view from our terrace overlooking Manarola was so beautiful. Volastra offered a quiet and tranquil escape from the quite crowded and touristy 5 villages nearby, and it was just a dreamy experience overall. You have to visit the vineyard Cantina Capellini, and make sure to do an early morning hike from Volastra to Corniglia! We did this trip without a car, and so we hiked our way down to Manarola each day, used the trainline to explore the 5 villages, and took the bus back up the mountain from Manarola when it was time to go home. This worked really well for us!

Handy to Manarola, via (steep) walking track and shuttle bus, but away from the crowds. The two restaurants have limited options (especially for vegetarians) and are quite expensive, but the little village shops is quite good. We ate in other villages and made pleasing breakfasts and lunches with supplies from the shop. The village is small, so easy to walk. If you need your morning coffee, though, make sure you bring your own supplies. Volastra is in the agricultural heart of the Cinque Terre, but still with views over the sea, and the terraced hillsides.

Volastra is an excellent alternative to staying in one of the Cinque Terre villages. It’s higher up on the hills than Manarola and Corneglia, but is easy to get to by car (make sure your hotel/apartment has parking) and buses run rather frequently to and from Manarola (and even Riomaggiore, but less frequently). Be aware that the bus schedule is less frequent during the mid-day hours as well as later at night. From Manarola, it’s very easy to hop on the train to go to any of the Cinque Terre villages. Volastra is the mid point on the trail hike Manarola-Corneglia and it’s very easy to access the trails. In my opinion the Volastra to Corneglia hike is THE most beautiful of all the Cinque Terre trails, and hiking from Volastra to Corneglia (as opposed to the other way) is also a little less strenuous. Same for Corneglia to Vernazza (as opposed to the opposite direction).

Volastra in itself doesn’t really offer much: it’s a quiet...

Volastra in itself doesn’t really offer much: it’s a quiet village with an amazing view. But the real deal is down at sea level. A convenient bus takes you down to Manarola and from there you can get the train to visit the other ‘terre’. If you buy the 5 terre card, you can hop on and off the bus and train as much as you want. It’s around 19€ a day per person, while the single bus fare is 1.50€

Brilliant location only a 10 min bus ride down to Manarola, where u can jump on the train or ferry to explore. Bus back up runs until late which is fab. Hotel was lovely, superb breakfast and the most helpful knowledgeable host, definitely recommend. As yo arrive in the village hotel is on your right on a bend easy to miss

Our hosts were extremely accommodating and helpful. The location was perfect for travelling around Cinque Terre. Volastra is a very cute town and it was really nice to be away from the large crowds of tourists. The apartment was perfect and had everything we needed. Very comfortable for 3 people

The hotel has an excellent location and has an amazing view, you can reach Manarola in 10 minutes by bus or in 30 minutes by walking (an adventure that require some skills). They offer a good breakfast and the room cleaning is excellent.
