FAQs about hotels in Verona

A Shakespearean Fairytale

A darling of Shakespeare, beautiful Verona is the literary home of Romeo and Juliet. The medieval families of Montague and Capulet immortalised in the tragic play did actually exist and some buildings relating to the Montagues are still present.

Sorry to disappoint, but the place purporting to have been Juliet's house in Verona was not actually where she lived. However, it’s still worth suspending reality for a while and stepping out onto the balcony to see if Romeo turns up.

Another of the must-see Verona sights is the Arena, a largely intact Roman amphitheatre which is now the spectacular setting for outdoor summer operas. Smaller Roman relics include the stone bridge that crosses the river by the Roman theatre whose remains are partly beneath a house.

The city’s narrow streets house many cafes and restaurants which offer cheaper fare than the touristy ones by the Arena, although admittedly the views are less impressive. Life in Verona is laidback and elegant, so expect to see some well-heeled Italians on a post-dinner passeggiata.

Verona Airport is a little out of town, so you’ll need to take a bus to get to your Verona hotel, apartment or B&B. Book with Booking.com for the best choice.

Lovely, quaint ancient town with so much charm and beauty; lovely restaurants and bars. Sure to visit the medieval cathedrals and churches, and museums in the city. Lovely market. The city is very easy to move around on foot and plenty of public transport as well.

Very nice little town, with beautiful little streets and squares, great food and nice people! Many places to shop and go for a walk, beautiful and warm weather in early November. We would definitely come back for a longer vacation!

Amazing architecture, good food and breathe taking landscape. After visiting all the 4 big cathedrals, climb on the top of the biggest hill and enjoy the view. The best deal for food and drinks it think are the small shops near the Funicolare, at the end of the Ponte Pietra bridge. With 20 euro 2 people can eat and drink really good food and a quite a large Aperol.

I love Verona.

I love Verona. I learned that it is full of tourists during summer. During autumn, it’s not crowded, you can see Verona in four hours and that time includes a lunch, a slow paced walk to admire the sights.

It was a surprise of a city filled with rich history I had never known. Bonus visit because of last minute inexpensive tickets to see opera at the historic teatro. People in the area were so nice, and we ate extremely well. I've shared with my family and friends. You won't be disappointed

Verona is a hidden gem, not as famous as other cities in Italy, yet it has a bit for everyone. Great historical sites, a lot of culture (Opera year-round), great for foodies, amazing shopping. It is not a big place and you can get around on foot. Close to other lake Garda for day trips, and Gardaland for kids. It is definitely worth a visit for a few days or longer. I have visited twice, but I would definitely be coming back

We had been staying in the Dolomites for a week and then just finished our Italian trip staying just 3 days in Verona so that we could go to see the Opera Rigoletto in the open air Roman Arena. The boutique hotel was really lovely with stylish furnishings. The bathroom was modern and fully fitted out. We had breakfast that included really delicious pastries made on the premises by a very pleasant lady who also served us our breakfast.

We've been travelling around Northern Italy for 1 week & our final stop was in Verona. We definitely saved the best until last as we absolutely loved this place. Very simple instructions to get in & the apartment had everything we needed for a family of 4. It was just a short walk away from the main areas of stunning Verona & I wish we could have stayed longer but one day we will be back. Thanks to the team at La Nuova Corte Verona.

This is such a wonderful historical building with the great location in the heart of Verona! We even heard the opera on the balcony in the evening. Nice and clean apartment have everything that you need. The washing machine in particular was very useful on a long journey in Italy. Special thanks to kind and helpful host Isabella!

This is THE place to stay in Verona. It was absolutely perfect! Rooms are small but when you are up and about exploring Verona, who cares! The location is ideal and the hotel is beautiful. Breakfast was the best we had throughout Italy.
