The hotel was situated just off the highway so suitable as a one night stay on our travels. The room was quite big with aircon and extremely clean. Comfortable bed. The restaurant was good with either pizza or off a menu. The stand out was the staff. Knowing we were visitors to their country they were careful to explain everything. Breakfast was more than adequate and the lady was very hospitable making sure we had everything we wanted. I thoroughly recommended.

I love the surroundings of this place—the atmosphere and the complete package that came with it. The staff was very friendly and immensely helpful. The room was a good size—it had everything needed, including a generously sized shower and bathroom. The facility boasts a fantastic open-plan living room with a beautiful view of the backyard that seemed straight out of a movie. The dining area on the ground floor radiates a lovely ambience where time feels like it stands still, and the internal design is exceptionally stylish. Despite the nearby road, it did not disturb the peaceful stay. Walking around allowed me to reconnect with nature. Being there at the beginning of Spring was special as the Mirabella plum tree (white) and Japanese Quince tree (red) were in full bloom. This place evokes a profound sense of peace, and it is somewhere I will revisit. I adored this place. I look forward to returning to Agriturismo Rio Verde at a different time of year to experience the nature of this location in another season.

Sasso Marconi is a perfect half way point between Switzerland and Rome. The main square in front of the church is a happening place with a market and a great meeting place for the locals. A particular highlight is Profumerie Piselli a perfume/ cosmetic shop just around the corner from the square.

We usually stop in Sasso Marconi on our way to the South of Italy from Germany. La Quercia is closed to the motorway, still in a quiet area, on the hills. We dined at Osteria dei Sani in Sasso Marconi, 8 min drive from la Quercia, very good. The property accommodated my request to have a take-away breakfast, since we had to resume our journey early in the morning. I really appreciated it. The room was clean, spacious and fully equipped.

Sasso Marconi is very small and quiet I didn't have time to...

Sasso Marconi is very small and quiet I didn't have time to fully explore but getting around on foot or by car is easy enough. Getting in and out from other towns is a different story, if you don't use Italian Telepass you can only exit from the autostrada at the south of the city and cannot enter the autostrada at all. If you're heading north, look forward to at least an hour of heavy traffic on the strada statale and Bologna's ring road before getting away.

We enjoyed a super nice show for free at the main hall and kids were amazed. This was well published and they also had a workshop which was unfortunately sold out, but as a parent this is anyway a positive sign.

A beautiful ducal palace with special history.

A beautiful ducal palace with special history. There is a good cafe in the grounds, a great restaurant, a wide selection of local wines and foods. There are interesting country walks, our dog loved it. The staff are kind and interested in the welfare of guests. The restaurant service was first class, not intrusive but we did not have to wait long for service. Quality of the food was excellent, the best steak and lamb that we have had in over twenty years of visiting Italy. We will return next time we drive through the area.

The location is in the country outside Sasso Marconi and offers opportunities for walks along the river and in the local woods. There is a long distance footpath/cycle trail through the grounds. The restaurant was excellent with good, attentive service and excellent food well presented. The room offered country views and had a small balcony.

Located in a quiet area surrounded by hills, close to Bologna. We spent only one night there. We received messages with instructions on how to check in and where to find the keys. During our stay, we didn’t meet any staff; check-out was also very simple. An outdoor pool is available, but we didn’t have time to try it.

Great view from surroundings and terrace. Restaurant is closed on Sunday for dinner but we had a wonderful meal at Vecchia Roma. Hotel is really remote and very relaxing.
