Massimo and Laura went out our their way to make our short stay feel so welcoming. The original stone building has been refurbished and made into a warm and inviting place to stay. Accessing the building and room was easy as clear instructions were provided on how to enter the property and where to park etc. Rooms were modern, clean, spacious and warm (our stay was in winter). The highlight of our stay was the amazing breakfast put on by Massimo and Laura. A variety of local and homemade dishes were provided along side tea, coffee and juice. Both Massimo and Laura made an effort to interact with us and gave us some good advice and tips based on our travel plans. Would definitely recommend staying here!

If you're staying here to commute into Verona, don't.

If you're staying here to commute into Verona, don't. The bus systems aren't very reliable and you can't stay too long in the city or else you miss the last bus that leaves early in the night. I had multiple experiences standing and waiting at bus stops in 95-degree heat for busses that were running late and it was miserable. San Pietro in Cariano is a beautiful little town but there isn't much there and not many people speak a language outside of Italian as it is not a tourist spot and such a small town. There are a few restaurants in town, but the language barrier is difficult and often I would just prefer to wait and eat down in Verona as it was easier. The commute by bus into town is about 30-40 minutes and there is no working AC on the bus so you are either standing or sitting in your own sweat for that entire time. I would have rather spent the money and stayed in the city, but the place I stayed in San Pietro in Cariano was lovely and I have no complaints about that, I just chose the wrong location.

A beautiful area.

A beautiful area. Not very touristy, so it's very quiet and unspoiled. The surrounding landscape is wonderful – we explored a high plateau with a fantastic view and a great panorama across the hills. Very nice, friendly people.

In this town, you'll rediscover the true meaning of "taking your time." The beauty of enjoying the view and waking up at 8 a.m. to the sound of bells ringing in the morning. The wine bistro is perfect for enjoying excellent dishes and tastings of locally produced wines. The staff is very young and dynamic. Suitable for couples and young people, it's a beautiful location for ceremonies and birthday parties.

A beautiful place. Neat and organized. Very pleasant for wine tourism. Many wonderful wineries to visit. As with other towns in the Valpolicella Classica region, there's also plenty of history and beautiful things to see (churches, castles, historic villas).

We were in the area to visit wineries, and Domus Cariana is...

We were in the area to visit wineries, and Domus Cariana is perfect for this. We reached several wineries on foot, others were within a 5 km radius. There are wonderful restaurants with fantastic menus, always traditional local Italian. We were treated to wine and good food, as well as a wonderful overnight stay, where the hosts were always helpful with recommendations and reservations.

We were looking for off the beaten path , cozy place and it delivered. Big hotels and buzzy locations have their benefits , however this is NOT it. Lots of history there and amazing views., Villa Betteloni wins you over the second you step out of the car. We felt extremely comfortable there , as the place shared it soul with us ( hard to explain) Our hosts were extremely generous , Mario - we apreciate all of your hospitality :) . Can't wait to get back there.

A family of four plus a dog, we spent a couple of days at Villa Giona. This is an exceptionally stylish hotel with a laid back flair and a great staff. The breakfast was excellent, the pool too - and the rooms really big and comfortable with an aircon and even a jacuzzi. If you get a chance to spend time at Villa Giona, I highly recommend it: it's worth every penny.
