We liked staying in Libia as it was away from the touristy places so you could see the real Rome. Very busy in central Rome and constantly harassed by tour guides looking for business , Rome is beautiful and so much to see even away from touristy areas. We were nearly stung by pickpockets on the buss so be very careful on busses, Metro very easy to use. We would recommend Rome for a visit

Jubilee 2025!

Jubilee 2025! Holy Doors open - so well organized through the App! A big shout out to all the volunteers and police officers working to make Rome a safe and enjoyable experience. Getting into Rome from Hu Roma is not difficult just crowded in the bus. For those of you in the hospitality and restaurant industry, I recommend dinner at Marco Graziosi Via Statilia 12. The food was very good and the service was stellar! A true connoisseur in front of the house service.

Make sure you come armed with patience and plenty of time — the tourist attractions are crowded or very crowded. Avoid eating right next to the major sights, and be cautious with the guys selling roses or bracelets. They are easy to spot, and I already knew their tactics, so I avoided them successfully every time. But if you don’t firmly say no, they may put a bracelet on your wrist and won’t leave until you pay. So be careful.

We all know the obvious places which are often very busy but some of the most beautiful places are smaller, less busy and more memorable: San Prassede and San Clemente with beautiful mosaics and pavements, San Pietro in Vincoli with Michelangelo's Moses and, of course, the Caravaggio's in San Luigi di Francese.

I didn't think Rome would beat Paris as my favourite European city to date, but there is a fabulous view at every turn, be it a cute cobbled street lined with twinkly lights and trattorias, a breath taking ruin, statue or building and it was clean, much cleaner than Paris. Oh and the weather, 21 degrees in November? Yes please!

Plan the trip during working days (avoid Friday-Monday) due to enormous weekend crowds. November to February are good months, less crowded. Public transportation is great, you can pay with card or Apple Wallet directly in the bus/tram/metro, which is great. For me the best area for eating and spending evenings is Trastevere. It is crowded with young people, it is always live and you will not see any tramps or feel unsafe walking at late hours. Eating in any of these restaurants cannot be a mistake. I recommend Nannarella and Da Ottelo, great home-made pasta and delicious sweets (Panakota and Tiramisu). Vatican area is also very nice for a walk. Do buy the tickets for the Vatican museum on-line and skip the line (it is very easy), since waiting for at least 4 hours is not something nice.

Everything about this hotel, including the staff, is exceptional. We were upgraded for both our stays - rooms were beautiful and beds extremely comfortable. The mini bar is free - such a lovely touch. Breakfast is superb - one of the best we have ever had and definitely the best we encountered on our trip through Italy. The rooftop bar is lovely, with wonderful views over Rome. All the staff are extremely welcoming and go above and beyond to help, ensuring you have the best experience possible.

We had a wonderful weekend in Rome! It's a family hotel with very friendly and helpful hostesses - Francesca and her mother. The hotel offers stylish and comfortable rooms equipped with everything you need: a fridge, a kettle, a TV. The bed is very comfortable, and the area is quiet. I especially want to mention the delicious homemade breakfast with eggs, yogurt, ham, pastries and coffee, which is quite diverse for Italy. I highly recommend staying at this hotel👍

The very best breakfast i have had in Italy, over the past 7 years of travelling around Italy. The hotel is a very well kept building and has a modern feel to it. The staff are all very helpful and especially the bar tender, who also oversees the dining area - Thank you. The location is not in the center of Rome and its a short bus ride to the nearest Metro station - but the busses & Metro are frequent and easy to use.
