I just don't know where to start. As soon as you step into the hotel, that moment your day becomes incomparably better. The service upon entering the hotel, the friendliness of the staff and the ambiance are simply magic. We stayed 3 nights and I regret that we didn't stay at least as long. Beautiful room in the peaceful and beautiful Val del Noto area of Sicily. Hotel all at ground level, although as always, steps here and there (e.g. from reception to breakfast area) so check step-free access if you need it, before booking. Our room had an upper gallery area with large double bed and then lower area with double sofa bed, shower room, wardrobe, TV and a small table and chairs for 4. Perfect for a family of 3 adults. All spotlessly clean and a delicious breakfast for 8 Euros per person. Pool looked amazing but not quite warm enough to swim yet in early May (22/25c). Hotel reached by its own exit of the interstate (!) and plenty of hotel parking available on its private land outside hotel grounds.

The room was cosy, located in a separate building. Definitely private with comfy bed. The main building is gorgeous and the breakfast is served in a nice location. It was tasty too. I loved the place and would definitely recommend it. The pool gave us opportunity to chill and cool down on a hot 30 degrees Celsius day.

Before we arrived at the hotel we got a message from Chiara offering help if we needed it. When we arrived she was a mine of information about the area we were in. She arranged shuttles between train and bus and organised for us to visit Punta Secca and Donnafugata Castle using local taxi family who were also reasonable and patient. If only all hotels were as helpful. Ragusa was quiet but we like it that way. The hotel is situated exactly between Ragusa Superiore and Ragusa Iblea.. perfect. Its a small hotel that offers a great personal experience.

Ragusa has good infrastructure for a holiday - insofar as there are cafés and restaurants at various price points and plenty of baroque buildings, particularly in Ibla, that make it a very attractive place to stay (this was our second visit). It is handily placed for day trips to the other cities of Southern Baroque Sicily (Scicli, Modica, Noto and Syracusa) but it should be remembered that Sicily is a huge island and therefore Ragusa is by no means a convenient jumping off point for cities in the North (Taormina, Palermo etc.) The island has so much to commend it that it would be daft to try and tick everything off during a single visit in any case. Don't set targets, slow down and enjoy.

We enjoyed Ragusa a great deal.

We enjoyed Ragusa a great deal. Ragusa Superiore, where the hotel is located, was easy to approach by car, which was useful for us and situated across from the street from an impressive cathedral. We enjoyed the walks down to Ragusa Ibla, where we spent two afternoons wandering the narrow streets, enjoying the sites, and were able to take a public bus back up to Ragusa Superiore with little trouble. Staying in the upper part of Ragusa allowed us to experience both parts of this small city. Both parts of Ragusa come alive in the evening when shops re-open, and people head out to dinner. Having coffee or granita in any square is a great treat, as is visiting green spaces, like the garden in Ragusa Ibla.

Good sized room with comfortable bed and good outdoor terrace. Nice views across to the Ragusa Ibla area. Quiet neighbourhood and some street parking if you are very lucky but parking station is not far away. Lift worked. Bathroom has auto lighting a bit annoying if you get up during the night but handy otherwise. Very small hotel only 9 rooms and staff only on site until lunch. Not a problem just an observation. Breakfast good choice for a small place, lovely cake, savoury options,coffee, yoghurt

It was the best accommodation in our 2 week Sicily trip. A true gem, the apartment was modern, fresh and clean, almost hotel grade, with a welcoming kit (snacks and drinks), huge comfortable bed and spacious bedroom. Extraordinary view from not only the private balcony but also shower! This apartment makes staying in Ragusa Ibla even more wonderful. Ideal location between Ragusa and Ragusa Ibla, making it easy to reach both. Couldn't recommend it enough, I wish to stay here again.

Lovely pool and huge garden. House was nicely decorated and had air conditioning. Our host responded quickly if there were any issues and he recommended beaches and restaurants. He also kindly provided food for us which was a lovely welcome when we arrived. It was a short walk to Ragusa Ibla, the old town, up some steps. Each room had an ensuite bathroom which was luxury we don't have at home!

We chose the hotel as we wanted a pool to relax for a couple of days & we were not disappointed - the pool & gardens are beautiful. For us the location was perfect- close to the steps to walk to Ragusa Ibla but be aware there are a lot of steps! We liked the hotel’s character, a converted former noble man’s house with beautiful marble flooring throughout. Breakfast options are good.
