Amazing place. The rooms looked even better in reality than on the pictures. Very beautiful. The service was very good and the breakfast was delicious. If you have the roads by this area this is the place to stay!

We loved everything about this place, in stead of planned three nights we stayed six. It is a bit of a scenic drive from the most popular hikes in Dolomites, but we did not mind it, plus there is tons to see nearby. The host is wonderful and so helping in every way. The jacuzzi is a great addition - perfect after a day in the mountains. This place really is home away from home.

My stay at Casa 1885 had two highlights: the house itself and – the hostess. The mere fact that I was staying in a house built towards the end of the 19th century was very impressive. Casa 1885 is a successful blend of ethnic style and modern comfort, furnished with attention to detail, in a quiet location, and with views of the Dolomite peaks. The hostess Armanda treats you as a guest rather than a customer, ever-present but not intrusive, helpful even with special requests, with small favors that go far beyond the obligatory – in short – a born hostess. Highly recommended!

Beautiful place with an incredible energy! The hosts are lovely, the food is delicious and fresh. There is an outdoor area perfect to read a book with hammocks and chairs, so beautiful and peaceful! I just loved it!

Mel is a hilly little town that has a plethora of narrow one way streets - don't be alarmed by them, they are worth exploring, and the buildigs are interesting. The church and square are beautiful, and the gelateria superb. The views of the river and Dolomites are spectacular. It boasts a Tourist Info Centre, Museum, and Post Box, among other things.

I went to these places to cycle in the beautiful Dolomites, very easy to get around if you have your own vehicle. The only downside was the heavy traffic on the provincial roads, which was sometimes very dangerous. When I was heading towards the mountains, there was almost no traffic.

Mel is a wonderful, very small town and is considered one of the most beautiful in Italy. Everything is within walking distance; there's a very good restaurant in the old town, as well as a small, cozy bar and a small general store with a bakery for fresh bread rolls. Delightful. We would go back there again and again.
