The beauty of Santa Marinella is in the proximity to the best beaches of Costa Smeralda, but without the ridiculous price tag. Provided you have a car, the most beautiful beaches are 15-30 minutes away. Porto Rotondo with it's chick restaurants and lovely night atmosphere is 7 min driving. Famed "Lu Stazzu " restaurant that serves traditional Sardinian food, including porcheddo - fire roasted pig, is 7 min away. Keep in mind, the restaurants of Costa Smerlda book fast during the season. People dress up, especially women - I am talking evening long dresses :) Santa Marinella port is a walkable distance, but there is not much happening at night. The bottom line Santa Marinellla is cute, it is a pseudo Mediterranean style resort like village with lots of condos and small hotels. The beaches in Marinella are stunning and unlike other parts of Italy, they are mostly wild with no sun bed, which is amazing. The landscape is really special – with the giant granite rocks it feels almost jurassic. I also appreciate that Marinella offers both beach paradise and scenic sports activities - so it has something for everyone. And the local food is delicious. I love that it celebrates both the cheese and sausages from inland as well as the beautiful seafood. And Sardinian Vermentino is the best Vermentino.Guest review byRaphaele - 8.0
There is not a lot do in Marinella in the evenings, not...
There is not a lot do in Marinella in the evenings, not really and shops or restaurants, the infrastructure is poor. There is slightly more open in Golfo Arancini but not enough little shops to mooch in or restaurants for us to sit and people watch. - several times, when we ordered our "fresh fruits" they were rotten and dirty (and once our prawns were served with a little dead spider on their surface) - Juice which was a part of the "breakfast form" was a mixture of chemicals (the taste was really terrible) - some of the basic breakfast food were proposed for extra charge, examples: 5 EUR for fried eggs; 6 EUR for fried eggs with bacon; 2,50 EUR for soft boiled egg and 5 EUR for fresh juices BEACH: you have to pay to use their sunbeds SWIMMING POOL: closed at 18hGuest review byVictoriaFrance
