Franco and Rita are super hosts. Comfortable room, with patio and access to beautiful garden (incl small swimming pool). Stunning views of the sea and mountains behind. Spotlessly clean. Best breakfast we've had in Italy. Rita's baking a real treat! Would highly recommend it. We went to the beach in Acquafredda. Easy parking. You could hire sunbeds. Not crowded. Biagio was a wonderful host from start to finish, he did everything he possibly could to welcome us with local advice and arrival instructions. The room is perched up a little stone staircase and has everything that you could need, it is very tastefully decorated and has the romantic appeal of a proper village house. Maratea is just as you would hope to find a gorgeous italian town unchanged with lots of character and friendliness. We ate at the Oenotecha, which offers wonderful ham and cheese platters and selected wines. The marina at Maratea is small but very perfectly formed. Altogether a delightful stay.

Maratea is a beautiful region and it must get quite crowded in summer. We were trying to miss the crowds and we did. In fact, it was very quiet in the last week of October with almost no tourists and just the small population of residents.

We had the most amazing meal at La Torre restaurant, Giuseppe is an amazing chef. His wife is an amazing host. Our food was of a very high standard and very well presented. I had a glass of red wine that was from the area. I so regret not taking a box home. Absolutely, love our stay. Unfortunately we only stayed one night. Will go back for sure.

Loved going up to Christ the Redeemer it was a fantastic view of the area.Worth the zigzag drive up . We went into the village and down by the boat harbour for dinner . Had the best ever dessert at 1999 ll Ristorante. The food there was amazing . Loved the beach ,the water felt warm , great for swimming. The only thing we found difficult was parking . It’s easy to find your way around but parking is difficult.

It would be nice to have a bit of information supplied where the beaches and beach restaurants/facilities are. Also some details for walks in the area, with enough details about paths and directions to be able to go on them without getting lost.

Take a car. Stay at the hotel Murmann - it’s very good. The beach has nothing to offer. The port area is worth a quick look if you have a car but is not a pleasant walk from the hotel. A local restaurant A Fuoco Lente was very good with friendly staff

Beautiful countryside; mountains AND sea. Quiet too. Great for walkers, but if you want to go far afield a car is useful - can be hired in Maratea. Everyone helpful and friendly. not a lot of English spoken (why should they!) but you can get by easily enough. Assume it is busier later in teh year but springtime is lovely.

Staff was exceptionally kind and professional. Breakfast was outstanding, really one of the best I have ever tried with all sort of local products. The position was good, it is close to Fiumicello Beach (200/300 meters walk) and the port (5mins walk or just seconds by car). I also enjoyed the chance to rent e-bikes at the Hotel and discover Maratea.
