The two halves of Imperia - Oneglia and Porto Maurizio - are different and both are worth exploring on foot. Lots of historic streets and coastal and mountain views. Porto Maurizio has a self guiding tour with information boards to follow. Imperia isn’t too big or busy which was nice for us. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Villa Grock clown museum was bizarrely fascinating and well worth the walk up the steep hill. It has a cafe to reward your effort! lovely easy going place to visit, not overly populated with tourists. If you are relying on public transport you might be dissappointed with the availability of buses or taxis when you want them. Imperia is a nice city with good facilities, beaches and restaurants. Our 2 best restaurants to share and recommend would be in the localita Piani Pizzeria Kemy and Pizzeria Restaurant Amelia which were extremely good with excellent staff who were friendly and added great character to the places.Guest review byMayUnited Kingdom - 10.0

There aren’t many tourists and it is not so crowded. The beaches are clean and the water is very nice, but you have to reserve every day your umbrella for the next day because otherwise you won’t find any free place on the beach. I had excellent correspondence (in English) with Paola,who was very kind during my stay; Ileana organised purchase of medication I needed (I had just come out of the hospital) and personally bought me a much-needed comb; the manager himself bought my medication and brought it to the hotel ....
