Stunning castle well worth seeing.
Stunning castle well worth seeing.
Book tickets in advance from their website (€7) - there are limited numbers, and you avoided queueing to get in.
The ticket is only to go inside - you can walk around the outside for free. The inside is worth seeing though.
There are signs, and sometimes people, telling you that the road to the castle is closed or limited access - tell them you are going to the Taverna Sforza, they have their own car park next to the castle for only €3, and you have a right of access to go there.
The walk up from the main road is longer and steeper than you think!
You can also go up at night and see the outside illuminated for free.

Excellent value, brand-new hotel and facility with an incredible kitchen. The pool is amazing - so huge and clean, with so much seating and deck space. Rooms are spacious with a steam shower and individual patios to relax outside. The staff is really responsive and easy to get ahold of via text or at the front desk. Highly recommend the on-site restaurant - we were blown away by the meal we had!

The location near Castel del Monte was excellent. we ate every evening at the masseria and enjoyed the experience very much. The hosts were accommodating to our schedule and went out of their way to be helpful. Nicola even made arrangements for us to take a yoga class in a nearby town.

On our tour in the south of Italy this was the hotel we loved most. Tasteful, peaceful and quiet, lots of wonderful outdoor spaces to sit and relax. Breakfast with local products, most of them homemade. If you have the chance to stay there, go for it, we absolutely loved it.

Just two km far from Castel del Monte, in a quiet street, the owner was very nice, because of a bad weather we came earlier. It was a small cottage with kitchen and bathroom and heating, which was important because it was cold.

Very good place to stay overnight when visiting Castel del Monte. You can see the castle from the balcony of your room. Nice dinner and breakfast. I liked the atmosphere overall.
