The service was amazing! Everyone was super nice and helpful. The breakfast was great, and the food at dinner was the best food we had in Italy! The hotel is located a short walk outside of Amalfi, but with the incredible views the walk was certainly no issue! We loved the modern and unique style of the hotel, and the rooms were big and clean. The suite we stayed in had an incredible view overlooking the ocean. An absolutely perfect hotel experience!

Fab location, very friendly staff. Our room was the front with views of Duomo and piazza. it was quite noisy during the day and evening but quieter when restaurants closed at night. good windows so we were happy enough. ideal location for ferry and bus. surrounded by lovely restaurants and cafes. walking distance to beach. breakfast was good but quite sweet, lovely coffee. we had a late train our check out day and were allowed to use the luggage check until we were leaving which was much appreciated.

The hotel is exceptionally placed above Amalfi, with an incredible view of the town and water front. The reception staff were very helpful. They gave us excellent advice for our two hikes. Firstly our hike from the Hotel to Ravello via Atrani, and visit to Villa Cimbrone. Secondly our hike on the Path of the Gods, starting in Bomerano (getting there by bus) and going to Nocelle / Positano (returning by boat).

Everything was perfect. Excellent hotel in all the most important details. Centrally located in the heart of Amalfi, housed in a very beautifully and imaginatively decorated former palace and everything is close to you. Next to the beautiful Cathedral and around the corner from the Plaza del Duomo. The beautiful main Amalfi beach is fifty meters across the road. There is also a bus stop for visiting the beautiful Ravelo which is only a 15 minute drive away and a port for taking a ferry to Positano, Capri or Naples or on any of the many excursions. In the Hotel itself, on a wonderful terrace with a view of the center of Amalfi and the sea, experience the feeling that such a beautiful place as the terrace can be the perfect place to wake up with a perfect breakfast in the morning with the sunrise, and in the evening to watch the sunset, with the top offer of the best restaurant in Amalfi, Sensia with a Michelin star, where the young chef and even younger staff serve magnificent and marvels food with a very characteristic youthful and brave approach to gastronomy and always. a small touch of Amalfi and lemon present in every dish. Equally attractive and unforgettable is the view from the roof top bar with a view of the entire Amalfi Bay illuminated by the stars and moonlight while you drink some cictail before settling down in spacious and artistically decorated rooms with local flair with a balcony and a view of the sea. The whole staff is extremely kind, accommodating and ready to help and always with a smile on their face and human warmth in communication. As far as we are concerned, with all due respect to the other hotels on the Analfi Riviera, Hotel Residence is the best choice to experience Amalfi and the surrounding area in the most comfortable and beautiful way. We will definitely come again.

Amazing views, incredible patio, fantastic staff. Francesca made our stay unforgettable - she is a true jewel. Very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. The location is great just outside Amalfi, making it a lot quieter and the view is incredible. There is a bus stop just outside in the street, but it gets busy from Amalfi station at Easter (when we were there.) As a backup, one can walk to Amalfi (25 mins, scenic) or take a taxi (EUR 35, taxis are very expensive in Amalfi!) In my opinion, the location is a plus rather than a negative though! If you'd rather not go out at night, they even prepared us supper at the villa! Some reviewers lamented the stairs, but if it helps, they do have a porter to help with luggage. Anywhere pretty in Amalfi is going to involve stairs! Our stay was amazing, can highly recommend it!

It´s beautiful, no doubt.

It´s beautiful, no doubt. And I certainly rate it higher than Positano. But it´s so so busy, full of groups, and access is agonisingly slow, the infrastructure being inadequate for the amount of traffic. It feels like a place setup for tourists, which detracts from its natural beauty. I prefer the grittiness of Napoli, which for all its troubles, feels authentically Italian.

While Amalfi coast is spectacular from the ferries. I would highly recommend renting your own boat and exploring the coast close-up. I rented a boat for eight hours and did the whole Amalfi coast. I even took the boat inside of a grotto at low tide. Boats are very easy to operate but you could also hire a captain.. I was not a big fan of the buses and the ferry staff was very unorganized making it very difficult to find out which very was ours. Lots of foreigners cutting in lines.

Sorrento was the place we loved the most in Amalfi. Everywhere in Amalfi is absolutely scenic but the number of tourists can be over whelming at times as you have to queue up for a very long time for local buses and ferries etc...

This was a bucket list place gor me.

This was a bucket list place gor me. Wish I could have stayed there for weeks. So much to see and so easy to do day trips to othere places. Highly recommend. There is a little café in front of the ferry port fantastic breakfast.

Amalfi is a stunning little town with gorgeous views. We had some wonderful meals there and enjoyed ourselves very much. That being said, be prepared for a huge amounts of tourists, heavy traffic and crowds.

I don’t have much to say except that it was very very...

I don’t have much to say except that it was very very crowded and ranking Public transportation was a nightmare. I would not recommend going there in the tourist season. It was well located as far a water transportation was concerned. Take a boat trip a long the coast or the traghetto to Capri. The views are spettacolare of the coast and coast towns

The location is amazing - on the rock right above the center of Amalfi, the view is breathtaking. You can sit on the balcony in the room, or in the terrace of the hotel, or lie near the pool and look at Amalfi coast below. The hotel has its one private beach equipped by sun beds and umbrellas. Shuttle buses are delivering the guests to the beach and to the center of Amalfi and back. Access to the beach is arranged via lift, so you do not need to go down and up along stairs. The staff is welcome and ready to help.

The host met us at the ferry port and walked us to the property, giving us some tips along the way. The view is insane! Better than in the pictures. The property is well laid out, clean and lots of room for a family of 4. There are steps to the property, I'm told 180, but if you’re going to the Amalfi coast then expect steps everywhere. The steps weren’t an issue for me and my family, some whinging from the kids. No complaints about the property, the location or the host.

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful position on the outskirts of Amalfi. Staff could not be more helpful or friendly. Very comfy beds with divine linen sheets, extraordinary views over the Amalfi coast. Breakfast was a delight and my gluten free daughter catered for with an array of amazing cakes and pastries. Pool area incredible with direct access to sea and attentive staff. Exceptional in every way.

Beautiful location, easy 20 minute walk into the main Amalfi town with a stunning beach just down the road. Bus stop is metres from the hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Waking up to the sunrise over the Amalfi coast was divine. If you want a place with a view - this hotel has it.

What a wonderful surprise, this was a huge apartment with a beautiful terrace. Nice high ceiling kept it nice and cool, we were walking the Amalfi coast, we were able to do our laundry, all dried for the morning. Very well located for some great good and lemon granita, thank you.
