- Very friendly, warm and welcoming host with amazing cuddly and playful dogs: it was a lot of fun seeing Nero running in circles with his giant ball and Pluto laying on your foot for a belly rub! - Shower cabin is clean and equipped with all necessities - Cabin is obviously small, but space was well thought, with plenty of shelves to accommodate things needed for our stay: even if it involves some logistical planning, travelling with massive suitcases was not an issue - Cabins themselves and the location were beautiful and peaceful, making this stay the nicest of a 16 days trip!

Room was perfectly tidy and clean. Beds were super comfy and I really liked the fact that the room had a perfect view of the outdoor space . Windows were everywhere, and the scenery was amazing during all day. A very good possibility to see northern lights as well over there. As there was only one hotel around and the rest of the area was surrounded by fields and a lake. The owners were also very friendly and helpful. They offered as biscuits in our room, tea, coffee, chocolates. They gave us directions and advises of where is best to go.

Our stay at The Dome was absolutely wonderful! The location is surrounded by nature, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. We were lucky enough to see the Aurora right from there, it was truly magical. The room was warm, cozy, and comfortable, perfect for a night under the northern lights. We had such a wonderful stay at the Old School House. Honestly, part of me wants to gatekeep this place – but of course I won’t. As a half-Icelandic person, this has definitely become one of my new favorite spots to stay in the countryside. We loved the garden, which was open for everyone to use. We actually ended up staying in for both dinner and breakfast, even though we had plans to go out and eat at restaurants. But the garden was just too cozy – we couldn’t resist. We also really enjoyed the hot tub and had an amazing evening watching the sunset. The kitchen and bedrooms were super clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling to Iceland. Magnea and Greg were so lovely and welcoming. You can really feel that they care and want you to have the best stay possible. 10/10, would recommend!:))

It's an old farm, the guestrooms are located in a separate new building. Rooms are ensuite which is not that common in Iceland in this price range. They have provided eyeshades and ear plugs which is a nice gesture (altough I did not need to use them). Reception / breakfast is is a separate building, the breakfast was well worth the additional 2.000 ISK. There are tea and some other drinks also that are available free of charge throughout the day. The mostly Polish staff was nice and attentative. There is nothing in the immediate vincinity of the farm, but you can reach all major sights in the golden circle area by car easily. The guesthouse is also a good base to explore the area with Skogafoss and Seljalandsfoss waterfalls and all the sights up until Vik. The closest town is Selfoss, there you'll find petrol stations, cheap shopping options (Bonus) and also the local public bath is worth a visit (or even two). Urriðafoss is a hidden gem, a nice waterfall, you can reach it from the guesthouse on a gravel road, you should not miss that (also reachable directly from road 1 if you or your car would not prefer gravel roads that much).

To put it shortly, a mandatory experience in Iceland. The ability to wake up in the middle of the woods and reconnect with nature, whilst having total privacy was wonderful.
