The property was easy to find, and is very well located for day trips around Egilsstaðir. The house was clean, cozy and nicely decorated. There was a washing machine as well, which was very handy. The beds were comfortable. The area was very quiet, a bit outside of Egilsstaðir, but very quick to drive there. From the open area where the cottages are, there is a short path to a jacuzzi (which was spotless) and there is also a sauna. We had a very enjoyable stay.

Set in a peaceful, natural setting, Eyjólfsstaðir Guest house is just a 10-minute drive from Egilsstaðir and the local airport.

The room was great, in a quiet place not far from our itinerary route. Breakfast was awesome as well. The host gave us a map with the area, told us about the nearby sights and interests, even a nearby hiking route of 4kms. We did it the next morning and it was well worth it.

All the dogs! The host was incredibly friendly. Also, for a reasonable price they washed and dried all of our laundry while we were at Vök Baths which was wonderful since it was almost the halfway point on our trip!

Jóhanna and her family have built a special place right outside of Egilstaðir. It is easy to get to, and the second you arrive you feel like you are in a forest getaway. The forest is beautiful with little birds, the campsite and cabins are private and there are great hiking opportunities and horseback riding. Jóhanna is very friendly and helpful and knowledgeable about the area and history. I cannot recommend this authentic Icelandic forest cabin experience enough!

The Hotel Was great! room was great.. and the Staff was great... BUT .. i do have to write about the restaurant at the hotel. the Staff was excellent.. and the food... well. i dont have the right words for the food.. they must have a master chef employed... i started with Ceviche... oh man.. it was incredible.. moving on to the main course,,. Reindeer.. i dont even know what to say... it was the most delicious meal i ate in iceland and it was one of the most deliciously prepared meals i have ever eaten. then you have the Skyr with strawberries .... most excellent.
