SwedenEverything was fantastic. The wiew was as stunning as could be, the room was quiet and comfy beds. Extra blankets, pillows, hairdryer etc was easy accessible. Easy check- in with codes, wich was sent in advance. Lots of public spaces and the public kitchen was extremely well equipped, a former restaurant kitchen. Free coffee, tea, hot chocolate in the dining room. Met the host/staff in the morning and they were very friendly and welcoming. I wish more accomodation with self-maintenance in Iceland were like this.

FranceThe location is very good. The staff are very friendly. The rooms are ok. Comfortables. I saw some comments regarding the rooms. People don’t say what is a guesthouse or they do not have the habit to travel. The decoration is very beautiful in the hall. I do recommend this hotel. Please book a table in the restaurante. The best tajine EVER. Bonus the jacuzzi. Love it ! :)

BelgiumThis place has an amazing view of the fjord from its windows. It’s super clean and the bed is the most comfortable of all the beds I’ve slept on in Iceland. The washing machine and the dryer are a plus. The breakfast was really good with warm bread and scrambled eggs, etc. I cannot possibly ask for more!

Looking back, I feel lucky that we ended (pretty much by chance) in Ólafsfjörður and not somewhere in the south. Driving is slow in Iceland so even just getting to Akureyri was a substantial trip but that's a constant in Iceland. Knowing what I know now, it was as good a base as any, and better than most. On our way back to the airport when we stopped by the locations of the so-called Golden Circle, with their hundreds of buses and their crowds, it felt bizzare. The main attraction of Iceland is that you can take a hike among the hills and, with just a little luck, have the whole valley for yourself (not counting the sheep). The neighboring Dalvik offers great horse rides (do look at Tvistur), the ferry to Grimsey, and more.Guest review byMartinCzech Republic
