Location was lovely, slightly in the outskirts providing full glory to northern lights than polluted by typical city lights. Room was spacious and comfortable. Staff (a young lady manning the booth during evening) was also great as she notified us of the most beautiful Aurora we've witnessed during our trip, which without her call, we would never have caught it. Last, breakfast was fantastic, typical Icelandic breakfast spread and more (DIY waffles). We'd gotten dinner in the neighboring city so no comments to that.

The hot tubs were a great experience at the end of a long drive across the Icelandic south coast. There was a slight smell of sulphur to the tap water, so keep that in mind if you are sensitive to such things. A great place to stay during the off-season; a complimentary room upgrade was a very welcoming touch.

This hotel is charming. When you are in the restaurant having dinner or breakfast (all homemade and extremely good), it is as if you were in 1890. Because of the decoration, of course. The staff is very friendly, the beds are very comfortable and the outdoor hot pot is wonderful.

We literally booked 1 hour before arrival and the staff were informed of our arrival and checkin was quick and easy. Our room was comfortable with a great view, and we really enjoyed the outside hot springs even when the evening was freezing.

Was a great location, we got to see the northern lights at night. Staff were on hand to help with some questions. The room was beautiful with a really comfortable bed and clean facilities. The breakfast was amazing too. Staff all friendly :)

Really cozy and relaxing apartment. Perfect for a couple. They thought of everything. All the little things, details. Romantic jacuzzi and sauna in the garden. Beforehand there were good guidance on where to find everything and what it includes. The day upon our arrival there was an sms as well. Well organized and professional.

    We can see that there is now a new glass restaurant which should have good views towards the far lake. Not yet open when we stayed. The food in the current restaurant was excellent, inspiring menu, could have more choices but talented chef is preparing the food.

    The hotel staff are friendly, and the design of the hotel is striking against the landscape, but overall the negatives far outweigh the positives. It will stand out as being the worst hotel experience I have had during 2024.
