The room is beautiful and clean with private outside space, the location is quiet (waking up with the sound of birds) and the surroundings are simply stunning (we came by bicycle from Kochin and enjoyed every minute of cycling around), communication with the owner is very pleasant, the host made us feel really welcome and at home. Risk warning: there is a chance of gaining weight, as the food is superb (and much).

Lovely location on the river,very peaceful,you have the whole flat to yourself.It is a beautiful property,Mr and Mrs Joseph will do you wonderful meals if you want and take care of anything you need,or you can go out to restaurants if you prefer.It's the best home stay I have stayed in.

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality by our wonderful hosts, Mr. Binu and Ms. Renu. Their kindness and attention to detail made us feel right at home. The homestay is nestled in a serene and lush green setting, perfect for anyone looking to relax and reconnect with nature. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged with traditional touches that reflect the essence of Kerala. A special mention must go to Surendran, Rathi, and the rest of the staff, who were incredibly courteous and always ready to help with a smile. Whether it was arranging local experiences, serving delicious homemade meals, or simply engaging in warm conversation, they made every moment memorable. Anandam Stays truly lives up to its name – it’s a place of peace, joy, and heartfelt connection. Highly recommended for travellers seeking an authentic and soulful Kerala experience.

Location and layout of the hotel, Looks great from photos, but quite Run down property and staff need more training on the hospitality side. Gym machine are all written and rusted, dont even bother going there. Swimming pool in a poor condition.

We booked 3 days at Ameya and added an extra one. Amazing garden, top notch bungalow and great swimming pool overviewing the lake. 4 times upclass dinner served at our own bungalow and we once took the opportunity to join the chef delivering his masterpieces. Everything perfect because of Anish (always ready to explain Indian history and Kerala culture) and his staff constantly running the extra mile and then doing one more. Highly recommended!

Exquisite lakeside property, beautifully looked after by the staff. Vinod and his team went to every length to make our stay magical. The food is very very good, home made tagliatelle with clams fished from the lake, fabulous curries and a different veg at every meal. Pool was lovely to swim in with the smell of frangipani wafting from the tree as I did my lengths. We saw otters playing by the jetty every day and fisherman going by or collecting sand. It is very peaceful and we didn’t end up leaving the property as it was such bliss

Didn't see much of the main part of Vaikom but did walks...

Didn't see much of the main part of Vaikom but did walks around the homestay. Visited a Temple and was lucky enough to see a ceremony which involved drumming, dancing, elaborate make-up and fire. There is a Ghandi memorial park to see which is very interesting.
