It is the perfect homestay to experience how the Khasi people live traditionally. The host, Kitborlong and his family welcomed and took care of us like family guests. They live in a traditional Khasi Hut (exquisite and rare) with a sloping thatch roof, surrounded by natural beauty - including two waterfalls within their property! The accommodation has been made in the same traditional khasi style (by the host and his father who is one or few remaining experts who have that knowledge) with modern amenities for the comfort of the guests. The roof of the homestay hut from within and outside is a work of art. It has all the comforts travellers look for in a homestay with the added bonus of tasty home-cooked (mostly homegrown) food. Our 5 year old son enjoyed the feel of living in a sprawling farm with a loving Khasi family, feeding chickens and star gazing. If you enjoy star gazing - it is a perfect spot with clear night sky and a wide view. It was a wholesome experience, and we would recommend it as a must do while travelling at leisure in Meghalaya.

We visited Meghalaya as a family. We found this place to be great ,the room and the service was very good. Food was tasty and the tour was planned perfectly. The rent and the food were affordable. The driver who was with us for 7 days was very cordial and sensitive to our needs. Overall we would recommend this place for anyone travelling to Meghalaya.

The location is perfect with well-equipped rooms beautiful scenery and peaceful environment. Good mountain view from rooms. Service was fast and staff well-supportive and polite. Food taste was awesome . The reservation manager was kind enough to upgrade the room free of cost into the first floor which has a good mountain view . The stay over all with family was memorable & wonderful. Recommended for family stay

Property was very nice, little away from the main town but nice view. Restaurant provided excellent food - both Chinese and Indian were good. The room was large, as was the bathroom. Excellent geyser. Bath stool was provided which is useful for placing change of clothes.

The POLO ORCHID Cherrapunjee is a fabulous hotel located on the top of Khasi Hills, literally above of clouds. The hotel landscape so organically fits into nature. Small wood houses combine luxury with simplicity and have a spectacular view of the Hills in sun-kissed morning. The staffs were very helpful and they behaved like friends. They offered exiting travel program: Huge Arwan cave and Living root bridges are deeply impress me. Breakfast was lovely with high variety and quality food. Dinners on a terrace with fire and life music are extraordinary. I would stay longer there.
